🏮💛 WHAT A NIGHT!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Culture Night Lantern-Lit Storytelling Adventure in the Aistear Maze such a special evening — despite the Irish weather doing its very best to challenge us! ☔️

First and foremost, an enormous thank you to Luci and Chloe for the incredible work, imagination and energy they put into creating and performing such a wonderful experience. To bring the story to life in those conditions was no small feat, and you were both amazing. 💛

Thank you to Wilde Irish Chocolates for very kindly sponsoring the evening with their delicious chocolate lollies, which went down a treat!

A big thank you also to Pieter Hilvering, and to Tram Huong and Dylan, our wonderful Workawayers, for giving their time and helping us make the evening happen.

And a very special thank you to Stephen, a wonderful local supporter of the arts who is always willing to lend a hand and does so much for our community. People like Stephen are a huge part of what makes events like this possible. 💛

Thank you to Paul Bugler and the Mountshannon Community Council committee for the use of Aistear Park, and to the CE Scheme team for all the work they do maintaining this beautiful community space.

We’re also very grateful to Iniscealtra National School for facilitating the workshops in the lead-up to Culture Night.

And finally, to every family who put on their raincoats and wellies, picked up their lanterns and ventured out on such a wet evening — thank you! 🌧️🏮

Seeing the children follow the lanterns through the Maze, becoming part of the story despite the rain, made it all worthwhile.

It was a beautiful reminder of what Culture Night is all about — creativity, storytelling and community coming together. 💛

✨ What a splashing evening at Culture Night in Mountshannon!✨🌊

The rain didn’t stop us — if anything, it made the storytelling even more magical, becoming part of our journey along the River Shannon. 💧

We are so grateful to everyone who participated, joined in, played along & became part of the story of the River Shannon. 🧚‍♀️🌿

💛 First and foremost…the kids!
We wouldn’t have put this whole event & all these activities together if it wasn’t for ye. This was nothing if it wasn't for the kids.

The smiles on your faces were more than enough for us. 💫 A huge thank you to mountshannon primary school for having us do workshops with the kids!

And of course, a small but mighty team was needed behind the scenes to bring everything together — props, setup, organising, managing the event, & all the backstage work before & after. And let’s be honest… sometimes the work behind the scenes is even more consuming than the event itself! 😅 Especially when you’re doing it all in the rain! ☔️

And then came the hot chocolate… ☕️🍫 Definitely needed to warm & sweeten the evening!

Speaking of chocolate… a massive thank you to our wonderful local chocolate factory, @wildeirishchocolates, for sponsoring the event & providing delicious chocolate lollies for everyone in the audience — even the grown-ups!😂🍭
They certainly didn’t last long! Dipping them into the hot chocolate was such a lovely little treat to begin and end the show… and, perhaps most importantly, to warm our very wet hands! 😋☕️

🌿✨ It was so special to work alongside @Mountshannonarts in a maze. This mythical, lantern-lit, animated storytelling experience was aMAZEing & gave us the perfect setting for our legendary river story.

A huge bravo to all helpers for organising & supporting the event, for all the time, creativity & input that went into making this possible. We are grateful. Go raibh maith agaibh!💚

I couldn’t finish without thanking my dear friend & colleague Lucie for collaborating on this magical mission. Our collaboration & adventures are definitely not finished yet… so keep an eye out for our next story!
