$HeeEeeEelloo, I’m not actually dead, and I didn’t actually get dysentery, the internet is filled with lies I was feeling cute and drank a little too much of the cow poo-poo water and done did gave myself worms (giardia)…. Woooopsies 😬👉👈 But hey, what a beautiful place to be pooping my brains out… ahhhhh the worms were too blessed to be stressed, my immune system on the other hand… was having an absolute crap attack, so I had the joys of menstruation and the flu while chilling above 10,000 ft in the San Juans trying to figure out what the hell I was going to do Thankfully, I was “close” to some hot springs on a side trail where I could hitch into town, but close is a relative term when u can’t even drink water without vomming ALAS ya just gotta keep boppin’ when that’s your only option, so 30 miles it is It was a rough one, but the coyotes were yippin’ and the elk were bugling which felt like the encouragement I needed in my weird delirious-sickly-Victorian-child state I had to set up camp about six miles from the road because I was all out of juice… 👀 I didn’t sleep that night, and it was cooooooold, but the next morning I stumbled my way to the hot springs, and I cried, it felt so good to be warm and feel safe Those were six of the hardest miles of my life, but I somehow made it to the parking lot just in time for three sweet grandmas to scoop me up and bring me to town I asked them to bring me to the vet because, ya know, ✨no health insurance✨ and I’m pretty sure they give dogs the same meds, so why not ?? But they convinced me to stop at a real clinic instead and they gave me some magic pills to kill my parasite friends RIP worm friends <\3 #wormlife #continentaldividetrail #cdt #thruhiking #colorado$
