Monstrous (2022)
Genre : Horror
Rating : 6/10

A single mother runs away from her family with her son to a secluded area to start a new.

Certainly not the worst thriller/horror film I've watched this year, but ultimately somewhat boring. Everyone who plays a significant role is up to snuff, but the plot drags in the beginning, tries to gain momentum, and ultimately falls flat. We are introduced to the film's psychological and supernatural elements through the dilemma of a single mother who is seeking to leave an abusive relationship and establish a new life with her little kid. The actors and actresses do a wonderful job, but the tales behind the characters don't make you care about them or what happens to them. This is the film's biggest flaw. They obviously had a great idea, but they botched the execution of it due to poor scripting. Although the story twist was well done, it was based on a concept that has been used countless times before and was therefore entirely predictable. You should check out this film, but shouldn't go into it expecting to be very entertained or charmed.

Enjoy guys and let me know what you think ❤️

It's available on Paramount Plus and Showtime

You can still "smell" the devastation from the wildfire on Evia island. Life here will never be the same after the catastrophic fire but it's always a matter of time for the scars to heal and the sorrow to be buried. Regrowth is a few months away and natural regeneration will begin. We will be reborn along with nature as humankind always is.

Today we premiere Holy Ground. I was invited into this project in the final hours before shooting, & I am so grateful- what transpired was a magical couple of days collaborating, discussing, & creating with an incredible QTPOC-driven team. Themes of ancestral healing, self reflection, & transformation are close to my soul, & the opportunity to dive deeper into these concepts, to choreograph on them, to perform, to cultivate the vision, with this brilliant & tender group of minds was invaluable. I invite you to join us today for the premiere & subsequent discussion with the exceptional humans who created this amazing piece of art & medicine. It’s free & the link is in my bio- see you there 🌘

December 5th, meet us at the HOLY GROUND ✨ • Join us as we dive into the depths of the esoteric world of Human + Spirit as we pierce the veil of mystery in the beautiful landscaped dunes where the land meets the ocean. The film is accompanied by a beautiful and haunting score. The score was created in collaboration with a world class composer, Colton Jackson, and vocalist of Siren Siren, Torii Wolf.
•
Holy Ground is the first single release of Siren Siren and a hybrid short film + music video, directed by Kayko Tamaki.
•
An all star queer BIPOC/QTPOC cast will be on the panel for a Q&A as they share and discuss the meaning and experience in their contribution to Holy Ground.
•
We welcome you to join us in a celebration of the release of the Holy Ground. We will have a live performance with Torii Wolf, a viewing of the Holy Ground music video, and connect with our cast & crew in an intimate virtual environment hosted by Sum of Us on 12/5/20
