Such a beautiful day down in Somerset with Beccy and Sam @wildingcider and their team in the cider apple and perry pear orchards - everything harvested by hand.

“Fruit is picked from the ground in the old way, left to mature and fully ripen before pressing, and then fermented gently and slowly with wild yeasts, no sulphites and plenty of time.”

Another fantastic evening sampling Autumnal Flavours @inn_hop with @alison_taffs and @connoruncorked taking us through a wonderful selection of ciders, perry and wine truly fit for the season.
Everything was truly wonderful, but the star of the show for me was the incredible Perry from @wildingcider ! Smooth, elegant and utterly delicious!
Much enjoyment from all the other producers as well, the amazing @tomoliverscider , @thenewtinsomerset @brokenwoodwines @littlepomona @consorziosalicesalentino and @fontanafreddawines

TABLE MANNERS now open @turn__shop

A delight to hang a new show of drawings up in London yesterday. Candelabras, grey poupon dijon, duralex glassware, bruised bananas. A classic compendium of objects from my mind.

Thanks to all that came to the PV and to Iona for having me at TURN. It was a very fun collection to make and something a little different to exhibiting my usual print work.

All works available to view online or at the shop until 22 October. Turn, 47 King Henry’s Walk, N1 4NH

3 belters 🍒 🍋 🌿 1. Spiced cherry shrub made with @wildingcider vinegar and Herefordshire cherries. This little batch flew out but we saved a bottle for our tastings in November. 2. Summer oxymel with fennel flowers from @fairyhill.marketgarden and @lazuliremedies, sage from @cecilia__mignon patch, lemons and Welsh honey and 3. Rutland elderberry cordial which I recruited my mum to help harvest. Over 10kg of these tiny, ripe little berries for only 22 bottles, but worth it. All so very different, all so very delicious! You can try them all at the usual spots 💦

Malus Pommeau from Wilding of Somerset is back!

A combination of cider apple eau de vie with freshly pressed apple juice, old Stockinger casks, and time. The result is about as complete a taste of orchard culture as you could ask for.

Made from hand-picked fruit across 25 traditional apple varieties in @wildingcider biodiverse Somerset orchards. A balanced ratio of bittersweets and sharps apples for distilling, blended with tannin-rich bittersweet juice. Aged for two years to create a truly fine Pomona.

Enjoy it as a pre-dinner aperitif served over ice with a splash of soda or a post-dinner digestif great with cheese, nuts and a dried apple.

It’s the ultimate pairing for Christmas pudding and festive cheese boards.

We’re delighted to welcome Sam Leech to the FŌDA 2026 Symposium.

Founder of @wildingcider Sam’s journey through food has taken him from butcher and baker to chef, restaurateur and, now, cider maker. Having returned to his native Somerset with his wife, Beccy, the pair now organically farm traditional orchards in the Chew Valley, producing natural fine cider, perry and spirits.

Rooted in a deep respect for the landscape, Wilding Cider celebrates traditional orchards, biodiversity and low intervention farming, proving that great cider begins long before the fruit reaches the press.

We’re looking forward to hearing Sam’s perspective on the importance of protecting traditional orchards, regenerative farming and why cider has such an important role to play in the future of British food and drink.

Join us on Saturday 26th September at Arnolfini, Bristol.

So you wake up and cast a first glance at the phone in the morning and you see a message from The Chris Evans Show @virginradiouk wanting to chat cider. And before you know you're getting a round of applause and gifted the opportunity to yak on about cider and Perry for 10 minutes to the great British public. And all before you're out of your PJ's and yet to have the first coffee of the morning. How lush is that?!

Head to @virginradiouk and fast forward to about 1hr 02 for the full segment. Listen as I sneak in shout outs to @rosscider @tomoliverscider @littlepomona
@wildingcider @findcider

Who's next? Fancy a chat @bbctodayprogramme?

September has rolled around fast and we are back once again tomorrow @woodsheddingbeer @westcombe for our monthly engagement. Much lovely new beer is on tap in the beer hall and here's the menu to go with it (plus a little cider as always, should you fancy something more pomme based).
As always from 1pm until sold out, plus coffee and doughnuts from a little earlier should you need a more gentle easing into the weekend.
