POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

5 years ago today I embarked on a trip that honestly changed my approach to photography forever.

A 5 day immersive workshop around the Scottish Highlands, photographing some of the most spectacular places I’d ever seen and getting hands-on guidance and advice from 3 professional photographers.

This trip was the moment I realised how to actually consider composition, be strategic with what was worth a capture, learned how to edit using the correct software, colour grading, and also the technical aspects of the professional camera I was holding.

The biggest takeaway for me was seeing how the professionals worked. Before this trip, I switched my camera on (automatic mode of course 😂) and just snapped anything that I laid eyes on. Learning from them it was different. Each photo taken was carefully considered, from the landscape, to the subject, the edits, everything.

I left this workshop with thousands of photos (still haven’t edited all of them!!), so many new skills, and a whole new perspective on my photography journey and what I wanted to create. The biggest thing I learned? Photography is less about the photo, but more about the story you want to tell. The same photo can be taken by different people, but the story will depict differently based on the crop, the edit etc. So I began the journey of telling stories through my lens, one moment at a time 💛

I’m continuing to learn from so many incredible photographers and videographers daily, every day is a school day. I’m proud of where my photography has grown to, and thank you all so much for supporting me this far. Excited for what the next 5 years has in store 📸

We’re celebrating 10 years of @thealpinists and we’re marking this milestone with our very first big photo exhibition!
Under the title «Fontauna» (Romansh for „source“), we showcase captivating mountain landscapes and moments from our shared adventures. Water in all its forms serves as the unifying element — as the sculptor of the Alps and the source of our inspiration.

The exhibition is complemented by two special feature presentations:
@jannisrichli – Capturing the raw impressions of a multi-day mountain adventure through analog photography.
@jonihedinger – Documenting the mesmerizing world of alpine glaciers with large-format photography.

Location: Altes Bad Pfäfers
Dates: August to October 17, 2026
Vernissage: Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11:11 AM

We can’t wait to celebrate a decade of adventures with you! #bealpine

The first big gravel adventure of the year was an absolute blast. 🚴☀️

Sardinia definitely turned up the heat, and I’m pretty sure I’ve never drunk this much water and Fanta 😂

Epic trails, stunning views, endless climbs, and memories that will last a lifetime. Already looking forward to the next one 🇮🇹🍕🍝

Didn‘t know that I needed endless roads with views of the turqoise water, a minimum of 1.5 litres per person on the bike and a 35mm p&s to kick off my European summer 🫰🏼

This trip was the ultimate test for the Sony A7V. From shooting an automotive campaign in the scorching desert heat to exploring the giant sequoia trees high in the mountains, I put it through pretty much everything. Safe to say, its an all-around workhorse of a camera. @sony.espana Here are a few shots I captured during my last two days in California. 🌞🌲🏜️
