Not every meaningful connection happens across a conference table. Sometimes it happens somewhere along a trail, when the agenda is gone, the conversations happen naturally, and the only thing you have to focus on is putting one foot in front of the other. That’s part of why outdoor recreation was woven into the Veterans Outdoor Recreation Summit from the beginning. Our guided hike brought veterans and community members together to experience the outdoors, build relationships, and carry the connections made at VORS beyond the conference room. A huge thank you to Audrey Miner for leading the hike and to Navy veteran & photographer Nate Sauer for capturing these moments through his lens. The summit may have ended, but there’s plenty more ground to cover. #KeepTheConversationGoing #VeteransOutdoorRecreationSummit #GetOutside

Three days. One inaugural summit. A whole lot of people who believed in what we were building. From the conversations around the fire to the connections made at the summit and the experiences shared outdoors, VORS brought together veterans, organizations, and industry leaders who showed up ready to connect, collaborate, and build. And the people made it what it was. To everyone who joined us in Park City, thank you for being part of year one. Who did you connect with at VORS? Tag them below. We’d love to see those conversations continue. #VeteransOutdoorRecreationSummit #KeepTheConversationGoing

You'd never bet on the enemy. So why are you betting against yourself? In uniform, you trusted your training. You trusted your team. You made calls under pressure with less information than you have right now. That didn't expire when you took the uniform off. The business idea. The career jump. The thing you keep telling yourself you'll start "when the timing is right." The timing is never right. You go anyway. Trust your training. Trust your experience. Take the risk. Bet on you. 🎯 Warrior Rising helps veterans and military spouses build businesses that last, with mentorship, training, and a community that has walked the road. The inaugural Veterans Outdoor Recreation Summit is officially in the books! Honestly, I’m still taking tall in. What started as an idea became a room full of veterans, outdoor professionals, nonprofits, businesses, educators, advocates, and leaders who chose to show up and build something together. To every sponsor, exhibitor, participant, presenter, partner volunteer, and member of our team: Thank you! You gave your time, your resources, your expertise your energy, and most importantly, your belief in what this could become. VORS was never meant to be just another event, it was built around a bigger idea: that veterans have an opportunity to move beyond participation in the outdoors and become the leaders, entrepreneurs, conservationists, educators, advocates, and industry professionals shaping its future. And this weekend reinforced something I already believed: The answers are in the room, the connections are there, the experience is there, the ideas are there, the opportunities are there; ourjob is to connect the dots. That is how we move from individual programs to an ecosystem. That is how a conversation becomes a relationship, a relationship becomes a partnership, and a partnership creates an opportunity that changes someone’s next chapter. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the first VORS possible. But I also want to be clear. We are already working on next year. The inaugural summit was not the finish line, it was the starting point. We have a lot to learn a lot to improve, and an even bigger vision for where this community can go next. Thank you for believing in VORS, Thank you for showing up, Thank you for helping build what comes next. Teamwork DOES make the dream

There was something different about the conversations happening this week. They weren’t surface level. They were honest. Conversations about growth and resilience, but also business, strategy, partnerships, and how we can work differently and better across this space. Ideas were challenged. Experiences were shared. Connections were made between people who might not have otherwise ended up in the same room. That’s what we hoped would happen at VORS. But maybe the most important part is what happens after everyone goes home. CONNECT. COLLABORATE. BUILD. And then? CONTINUE. Keep the relationships going. Keep talking about the hard things. Keep sharing ideas. Keep building together. Keep finding reasons to get outside. The Summit was the gathering point. Not the finish line. #KeepTheConversationGoing #VORS2026

The summit is under control. The talking head was not. 😂 A couple weeks ago, we shared the polished version of our COO, Levi, talking VORS operations from the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley. We kept the rest. 😂 Turns out building the Veterans Outdoor Recreation Summit might be easier than saying a few sentences to a camera. VORS is officially here this week. The team is ready. The venue is ready. Levi eventually got the line. See you in Park City. 🏔️ #VORS26 #getoutside #veteranoutdoorrecreation #bloopers

It’s not rocket science. Check in on your dudes. Make sure they know they’re not alone, and keep each other laughing when life gets heavy. Sometimes a simple text, phone call, or stupid meme is exactly what someone needs that day. ALSO! The Warrior Rising giveaway is STILL going, and this week I’m throwing in an EXTRA BONUS ITEM for one lucky participant. Want in? Donate to Warrior Rising and make sure you put “Security Halt!” in the “How did you hear about us?” section. Support Veteran entrepreneurs. Enter the giveaway. Check on your homies. 🤙
