POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I took the day off work, jumped on my 23-year-old Harley-Davidson Road King, and rode to another state just to get some barbecue. 🏍️

No real plan. No schedule. Just an old motorcycle, a full tank of gas, and a little freedom.

Caught the Cape May–Lewes Ferry into New Jersey, stayed off the highways, explored the back roads of South Jersey, and found some damn good barbecue @wildwoodsbbq and met some nice folks along the way @tacklemorefishing

And you know what? It was one of the best days I’ve had in a while.

There’s something about riding an old Harley, discovering little towns, and going somewhere for absolutely no reason other than wanting to go.

My 2003 Road King isn’t new. It isn’t perfect. But it’s taken me places, made some memories, and reminded me that you don’t need a $30,000 motorcycle to have a hell of a good time.

Life’s short. Take the day off. Ride the motorcycle. Take the long way home.

🎥 NEW VIDEO THURSDAY!

I filmed the entire New Jersey motorcycle road trip for my YouTube channel, The Long Way Home. We’re talking about something a lot of riders wonder about:

Are older Harley-Davidson motorcycles actually reliable enough for long road trips?

I’ll share my experience owning and riding a 23-year-old Road King, what it takes to keep an older motorcycle reliable, and whether I’d trust mine to take me anywhere.

Find The Long Way Home on YouTube and come along for the ride.

👇 Would you trust a 20+ year-old Harley on a long road trip, or would you rather have a newer bike?

Sometimes you just need to say screw it, take the day off, and go on a motorcycle road trip. 🏍️

So I jumped on my 23-year-old Harley-Davidson Road King and headed two states north to the Jersey Shore in search of some damn good barbecue.

The destination? Wildwoods BBQ in Wildwood, New Jersey. And let me tell you, it was worth every mile. 🔥🍖

Started the adventure aboard the Cape May–Lewes Ferry, crossing the Delaware Bay before hitting the scenic back roads of South Jersey. Skipped the Garden State Parkway and took the long way through Cape May and Wildwood, heading up the coast toward Ocean City, NJ.

Good roads. Great BBQ. A little salt air. And a whole lot of miles with nothing on my mind but the ride.

No deadlines. No meetings. No real plan other than finding something good to eat and enjoying the hell out of getting there.

Some days you don’t need a vacation. You just need a full tank of gas and a reason to disappear for a few hours.

That’s what The Long Way Home is all about. Harley-Davidson motorcycles, scenic road trips, back roads, small towns, roadside restaurants, and discovering places you’d never find if you stayed on the highway.

Because life’s too damn short to always take the fastest route.

🏍️ What’s the farthest you’ve ever ridden your motorcycle just to grab something good to eat? Drop it in the comments!

Follow The Long Way Home for more Harley-Davidson Road King adventures, motorcycle travel, scenic rides, and the best back roads along the East Coast. #motorcycle #harleydavidson #motorcycles #biker #bikelife

Is this the best BBQ in South Jersey?

Before heading out fishing the TMF boys ate up at Wildwoods BBQ. Top notch all around with some unique offerings including smoked bluefish and cumin smoked sausages.

Open wknds through December...come and decide for yourself! Tackle more fishing approved!

Jumped on the Road King today and headed north into New Jersey. No real rush, no interstate, just enjoying the ride and seeing where the road takes me.

Made a stop at Wildwoods Barbecue, and man, was it good! 🔥🍖

This is exactly why I love staying off the highways. You miss so much when you’re just trying to get from point A to point B as fast as possible. The backroads, little towns, and unexpected stops are usually the best part of the trip.

Sometimes the best places are the ones you weren’t even looking for.

Take the backroads. Stop somewhere new. Take the long way home. 🏍️ #motorcycle #motorcycles #biker #bikerlife #roadtrip

🎣🙏 FISHING ON A PRAYER

Summer’s running out.

So what do you do?

Load the rods.
Point the boat toward the ocean.
Crank the music way too damn loud. 🤘🌊

Do we know if the fish are biting? Nope.

Do we know the water conditions? Nope.

Do we care? HELL NO.

We’re going anyway.

One more run. One more shot. One more excuse to get out there with a good friend before summer officially calls it quits.

We’re gonna have a good time.
We’re gonna Live on a Prayer.

And hopefully…

FISH ON A PRAYER. 🎣🙏🔥

If we catch 'em, great.

If we don’t? Turn the music up. 🍻🤘

Gear Up. Get Out. Tackle More.

Lost Buoy ⚓️ Toss’t Baby

@lostbuoybar opened at the beginning of the summer at the end of our street, a former dead-end lot with a sunset-facing tidal beach choked in trash and overgrown reeds. This is such a good use of neglected space, and @wildwoodsbbq is crushing the food: smashburgers, smoked wings, five different types of fry baskets, etc. A walking path connects LB to the @thewharf_nj, along the marinas lined in center consoles and jet skis, and you can watch the boats passing under the Rio Grande bridge as the sky turns to cotton candy. Summer isn’t over yet 🌅
