International book deal: done ✅📚✍️

For 15 years, one question has followed me everywhere: “Do you have a book?”

After saying no to publishers and opportunities because it didn’t feel right, I’m excited to have finally said yes.

I was recently in New York to meet Wiley to mark and formalise signing the deal. 🗽

It was a very special trip.

Work has already started. Although, truthfully, it probably started 15 years ago.

The book will share everything I know about the psychology of how and why we think the way we think.

Because you don’t think the way you think you think. 🧠

It’ll be a ChatGPT free zone, I promise. 😉

There’ll be updates in the press over the next few weeks, and you’ll hear the release date here.

Huge thanks to the team at Wiley for following up every day: “Are you ready to sign? Are you ready to sign? Are you ready to sign?”

Thanks to the friends who gave advice. And even bigger thanks to my team for doing all the hard work 🙏

I’m so lucky and grateful.

Opening the advance copy of my book yesterday, the first page I turned to was the Special Thanks.

Writing the book was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Two years before editor Sam Ofman reached out to me about writing a book, I put together a book proposal and then tucked it away. Talk about manifestation!

To Leah Marie Mazur, Susan Guthrie, Stephanie Gisondi-Little, Nancy Rainford, and my amazing right hand Stephanie Ryan - thank you!

To Sam Ofman, Sophie Thompson, and the team at Jossey-Bass/Wiley who believed in this book and helped make it real - thank you.

To Marcia Hurwitz, my fairy-godmother, who has always shown me the way - thank you.

To my kids Mena & Jake who helped me create the family I've always wanted - thank you.

To my longtime creative collaborator Ken Kwapis whose support allowed me to spread my wings and try something new - thank you.

And to my mother, Olga Soffer, whose late-night click-clack typing in academia is one of my most formative memories. She set the standard on how to live life with grace, integrity, and intelligence. You will be forever missed.

The Divorce Planner: 8 Weeks to Get Organized, Find Clarity, and Become Your Own Best Advocate (Jossey-Bass/Wiley) publishes January 13, 2027 just in time for "divorce month".

It has been quite a journey. I'm excited to see where it leads next!

Your body was never meant to be a lifelong renovation project.

Many of us were taught to look at our bodies before we learned how to live inside them. To criticize her before you learned to trust her. To make her desirable before you ever asked what she desired.

But your body is not here to be pleasing, productive, or perfect.

Your body is here to be lived in.

And coming home to yourself might be the most radical thing you ever do- it was for me🤎

From the microscope to the canvas 🔬🎨

I’m happy to share this interview with *Microscopy and Analysis*, where I talk about how microscopy and cell biology inspire my artistic practice, and how I translate the beauty and mystery of the cellular world into art 🙌

A big thank you to Ralf Kempf for such a wonderful conversation and for capturing the ideas behind my work so beautifully! ✨️

✨ Abundance is a mindset, not a bank balance.

Financial fears, generational money trauma, and shame can keep us stuck in survival mode. That constant fear of “not enough” can lead to isolation and emotional loneliness.

🌿 Here’s your reminder: abundance already surrounds you. Sunshine, oxygen, trees, leaves, even the clouds above.

Practice mindfulness. Pause, notice three colors, three sounds, and three things around you. This simple act of presence can help calm your nervous system and support emotional regulation.

💛 You are more than your financial circumstances. There is more abundance around you than fear allows you to see.

Contrasting restoration strategies shape tree carbon recovery through different ecological pathways in subalpine forests
Luo et al. (2026) | Journal of Applied Ecology

Can different forest restoration strategies achieve the same carbon goals through completely different ecological paths?🌲🌲

This study sheds light on how passive and active forest restoration shape tree carbon recovery in subalpine forests—revealing that while total carbon targets may look identical, the underlying mechanics vary significantly! 📊✨

Key Findings:

🔍Equal Overall Carbon Accumulation: Total above-ground tree carbon recovered along a similar trajectory in both secondary forests (passive restoration) and planted forests (active restoration). 📈

🔍Divergent Mycorrhizal Pathways: Ectomycorrhizal (EcM) carbon increased consistently across both strategies. while arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) carbon showed a distinct interaction with the restoration strategy, shifting mycorrhizal dominance differently over time. 🌿

🔍Carbon stock variation was primarily driven by functional reassembly and mycorrhizal dominance. Recovery depended far more on stand structural complexity and soil condition constraints. 🪨🌱

Key message:

To build resilient, long-term carbon sinks, restoration management and evaluations must look under the hood—factoring in mycorrhizal composition, stand structural complexity, and soil health. 🌍🔬
