Being Grandma’s (my mother) plus-one to Lexi and Sam’s wedding was hands down, the best! Mom was very caught up in her posterity and the joy they bring her. She made it to everything but the dancing, which she was excited for but the night had become long and she was a little hot. We thought at one point during the day, that the uber driver was not going to get us to the temple in time and she was obviously very distraught about this. So she unabashedly and ever so naturally said a prayer right there in the uber with the uber driver and myself and then looked at me and said, “Dad will be there and will make sure they wait for us.” And sure enough… they waited. We were the absolute last ones in the room, but we made it.
Some may say that was just how it turned out and that we were lucky. But I believe that God is in the details of my mother’s life. And even though she struggles with her memory, it is important to her that she show up for her grandchildren. Those who are lucky enough to call her Grandma will really never know just how much she loves and the joy she has in her ever-growing posterity.

This sweet little lady is pretty fierce and will show up for you. It does not matter how you became her grandchild. I have no doubt that she would move heaven and earth for you.

Every time I make it up to Huntsville, I’m reminded how lucky I am to have the friends I do. Life gets a little crazy and just being able to all be in the same place at the same time is my favorite part. Grateful for good people and weekends like this that make life amazing 🫶
