Portland - chance meeting - Human Design

This time last year, I was at rock bottom, posted up in this queen’s sanctuary, meeting her in-person for the first time after becoming extremely close over the prior 2.5 years.

I was navigating one of the most traumatic periods of my life, + she was rebuilding + healing after a very challenging period of her own life.

We came together through the most mind-blowing story, which perhaps I’ll share another time, but through these years, we’d become unshakable support systems for each other, + the challenges we were navigating are ultimately what brought us together in the flesh.

When we finally met face to face, it was like looking in a mirror. We’d been talking over voice notes almost every day, but had never even had a facetime call.

We were stunned as we stood eye to eye, seeing ourselves so deeply within one another, landing in a sense of home.

She opened her sanctuary to me for 2 months. We nestled into Autumn together + sank into the most nourishing, recalibrating, transformational portal.

We were healing through many of the same wounds + patterns, + got deep into the nitty gritty of unpacking how these had influenced our paths, + how we needed to evolve to alchemize our experiences into a full-blown metamorphosis.

We went deep into shadow work; had paradigm-shattering conversations; laughed so hard we peed ourselves in grocery stores, doubled over from our abs hurting so bad; spent hours cuddled on the floor by the fire with notebooks, steaming mugs, tears, + sparkling eyes of inspiration.

We parted ways to each embark on what turned out to be wild journeys of full-system purge, letting go of homes, cities, relationships, belongings, beliefs, habits + patterns, stripping us of so much of what we used to know, + instilling the most profound trust in God + in ourselves we’ve ever felt.

We both had profound breakthroughs over these past weeks, + are finally landing on the other side of all of this, coming full circle as versions of ourselves we imagined a year ago, who we are now embodying.

I’m beyond grateful for the medicine of this sisterhood, which I so desperately needed after a lifetime of healing sisterhood wounds.

There’s just something about Cascadia PNW…
…Perhaps it’s the Tall Moss- and Lichen-Covered Trees, the Free Flowing Refreshing Rivers, The Sacred SnowCapped Mountains, the Abundant Wild Medicines, the Colorful Mushrooms, and of course, the Dear Dearrrr ‘Ohana that resides in all the cute nooks within the precious majestic ecosystems within the PNW bioregion…

.:.I am always so grateful for my time with you all- refilling my cup with adventure, beauty, connection, as well as, grounding and recalibrating.

.:.I’m excited to brew up all the wild herbal medicines I harvested throughout my journeys over the past 2 months.

Today’s lessons at Kelly Point Park in our mobile classroom. We start our day with meditation, qi gong and/or tai chi movements and today was extra special to practice by the riverfront.

Then we went into black cottonwood bud harvesting to make an amazing heal all salve called “the balm of Gilead”.

We got into some fun science and learned about diffusion in different solvents and why we use different solvents to extract different plants based on molecule size and the plants cell wall density. We used heat to speed up diffusion because molecules move faster when heated… just like we move faster when we are warm.

Plants and animals slow down in the cold winter as well, that’s why it was so exciting to have some of the first buds available to us for wild harvesting. 90 acres of nothing but black cottonwood seems like a good place to ethically harvest to us!!

Students got into some grow charting using companion planting charts and planning their own biodynamic gardens.
Then, Some creative writing exercises and introducing #theartistsway book to start our creativity and art workbooks.
