Paint becomes both language and impulse, spilling, resisting, and resolving into fields of luminous intensity. Layered gestures and bold chromatic contrasts create a subtle tension between saturation and control, where each mark records both immediacy and intention.

Will Bentsen (b.1965, Houston, TX) is an American painter whose work emerges from ritualistic, process-driven studio sessions. Embracing the physicality of paint, he works across multiple canvases, splashing, staining, and dragging material to build compositions that are both intuitive and deliberate.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our nephew, uncle and great uncle, Nibblet Bentsen. During his long life of 98 years, he was known for his kindness, quick wit and love of fashion. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

We are deeply thankful for last week‘s Material Group show, for all artists attending and everyone that came by to spend some time with us.

We want to thank our Partner @engelvoelkersberlinresidential that took this step with us to realize Material‘s first step and trusting us to work alongside them.

We also want to thank our curator @julian_daynov for putting together a show so tasteful and balanced. Without him the last week couldn’t have taken place.

Here follows our recap of a fantastic kick-off, we absolutely enjoyed it!

PS: thanks also to @ruinart and @sawade.berlin for providing the drinks and chocolates to the vibe, and to @forkberlin for feeding us 🙋🏼‍♂️
