good times in Tokyo. international animation gathering and shit-talk at Piwang, climbing Mt Takao and cleansing myself of my western devilry at the Shinto shrine, nerding out at Nakano Broadway, pasta by the park, taiyaki in Shinjuku, soft serve at the Ghibli Museum

You’re in your 40s and you think you could still roll as hard as you used to with younger students. Probably not a good idea. #valorjiujitsupasadena #jiujitsu #traininginyour40s #comedy

My first ever ANIME EXPO!! 🧡🥰 I am SO happy I got to experience an American Convention, especially AX which I have been DREAMING about going to for YEARS!!! 😍 I didn’t get to cosplay or perform this time, but I hope that I can level up for next year!!! I’m so happy I could meet so many people and make friends!! 🧡✨

My little Australian Heart is bursting with excitement and joy!!! 💖

Many thanks to all who filled our room for the @animeexpo Global Producers panel! It was a forum full of laughter, wholesomeness, and curiosity. The support and interest from fans from all over the world really was a testament and reminder to us that the work we’re doing, in bridging cultures, and creating at an international level not only is a natural progression of anime, but truly already imbedded in the roots of the art form for us to highlight and elevate on. It’s a global community of fans, both in its creation and viewership, and a warm and familial one at that. So thank you all for being a part of our family 🙏🏽

A great many thanks to @qubicpictures for putting a spotlight on this tide of platform for us all and bringing this family of international producers and creators together (in person too, which is a big deal), with @lucasfilm @dartshtajio @nlite_us @cg_orange_inc of whom we’ve all been connected for years, you’ve really helped remind me (personally) that in the unique way that we’ve been working on uniting the East, West, and more regions together, we’re not alone in this endeavor, and what we do really is impacting storytelling in the industry forevermore.

To many more collaborations, creations, and adventures together. Onwards!

A MASSIVE thanks to everyone who came through for #5SecNight25 LA & NYC screenings this past weekend.

Shoutout to the incredible artists and cartoon-makers who quite literally made this possible. Sooo many iconic shorts.

Themes this year included, but were not limited to: splatting, deluded heroes, birds, ghosts, grandmas, and as always, FLATULENCE.

Thank you to @vidiots & @svabfaanimation for hosting, @chrisprynoski for MC'ing, and YOU for showing up and gettin' down.

Tickets for the Vancouver screening are still on sale. 🇨🇦 April 15th @riotheatre

Every time I come to Tokyo without fail I randomly bump into someone I know. It didn’t happen this trip so I thought the streak would be over… until today.
