It’s been a while since I’ve dived (delved, one might say) into the latest AI tools… 🤖

I can’t hide my bias. I’m a classic craftsmen, not a tech nerd. I love making movies the old school way.

But we recently finished this fun client project that called for a giant cigarette character. The kind of thing people these days might rely on AI to execute.

We brought the character to life practically. But it did get me wondering… What would AI do with the same script?

Here’s what it put together with 45 minutes of prompts. How does it make you feel? Afraid? A bit of uncanny valley? Or do you feel like it’s actually pretty good?

At the end of the day, my job is to tell authentic stories for brands.

And beyond that - in an age where near-perfect AI visuals are a button-click away - I think the value of authenticity grows even more.

I saw a video from @willbryanfilms recently that summarised it perfectly. ‘The act of making the movie becomes part of the performance itself.’

I love that. Obviously this looks a little different when you’re talking about Youtube and Meta ads instead hollywood movies, but the principle is the same.

Keep making sick videos. AI slop only makes us more powerful. 😈
