That’s a wrap on an unforgettable daddy/daughter week!

We don’t get many chances to take off just the two of us, which makes weeks like this one extra special… and we may have been working on something pretty exciting along the way. 👀

Can’t wait to share more soon! Any guesses what we were up to?

William Saroyan’s stories have always been a balm for our breaking hearts. I don’t think I’m alone in that feeling. During a challenging time for Armenians everywhere, his work rekindled a dying light that once illuminated my hope in humanity. In all my research and in connecting with his surviving kin and community, I’ve come to the understanding that as storytellers, Saroyan was building and seeking worlds that embody and evoke the idea that even in our darkest hour, we find ways to be kind, joyful, and human. That resonates deeply. I feel deeply honored and grateful for this opportunity to bring ‘The Pomegranate Trees’ to the screen, and to do so in collaboration with so many incredible humans. Look out soon for screening announcements!

SPECIAL THANKS to my family for their ongoing support, to everyone who gave feedback on scripts and cuts, to all the folks who supported with funding the film, and last but certainly not least - to the spirit of William Saroyan himself and all those who continue to keep his legacy alive.

Turning 33. To sharing a birthday weekend playing backyard football, celebrating at a bachelor party, premiering our short film and spending some time at the movie theaters, I’d say it’s been a very good birthday weekend. Even better yet, I got to spend it with friends and family. And even though not all of my friends and family were around for it, I’ll have them in my heart always. Thank you ☺️
