After completing one of the greatest comebacks in ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ playoff history, it seemed only fitting to give the Staggieโ€™s the spotlight. Sorry @can_chas

Located north of Inverness, in Dingwall, the largest mainland settlement in Ross & Cromarty, Ross County was formed in 1929, with a club badge incorporating the Caberfeidh or Stag's Head from the badge of the Seaforth Highlanders & changing itโ€™s name from Dingwall Victoria Utd upon a successful bid to join to Highland League.

They would win it 3 times, in 1967, 91 & 92, shortly after their last HL victory @rcfcofficial were awarded one of the 2 vacancies in the newly restructured SPFL along with their now closest na rival, Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

โ€œThough I may be far away, my heart is in the highlandsโ€

You have to be from the north to understand whatโ€™s so great about it, clubs like County & Caley have always struggled to attract players, the hotbed of talent is the central belt, a good 4 hours away so both have always had to be smarter than their opponents for the edge.

That would never be more true for than when they beat Celtic 2 nil to reach the Cup Final in 2010, the first time in their history. They would play Dundee United, taking over 7K fans down to Glasgow, more than the population of Dingwall itself, they even joked โ€œlast person to leave the town, please turn the light offโ€.

Although they wouldnโ€™t win, it was the 1st time a team from the H&Iโ€™s had competed in the final of Scotlandโ€™s premier cup & the club having a 40 game unbeaten streak that would push them into Premiership. Meaning the likes of the Old Firm would both have to make the long trip north regularly.

The central belt may not like the north, but damn do they enjoy our whisky! @tomatinwhisky is located just shy of Inverness, 80% of what it produces goes into blends but that other 20%... my goodness, I try not to get into the under/over rated argument as its opinionated nonsense but Tomatinโ€™s line of single malts fly under the radar. The Legacy release is a consistent feature in my collection for a mixture of its palate & price. The 14 continues that fine work, non-chill, no colouring & a generous 46%
