FILM FEST GALA - What a wonderful night with old and new friends celebrating film and raising money to support emerging filmmakers.

I’ve been to many film festivals over the years with @jonathanqmchugh but the New Orleans Film Festival combines culture in so many special ways that it can make your head spin.

People think of this city as a music town but it was so apparent watching film clips paired with performances last night that our town is also a character in so many movies - this can’t be replaced on a film set or in any other city.

Congrats to Dodd Loomis and the festival team - I know how hard it is to produce an event that matches expectations and last night rocked it!

Excited to watch some incredible narrative and documentary films the next few days! Looking forward to see many friends along the way!

Midsummer MardiGras - it’s hot but the party was hotter! Krewe of Oak closed down the street, the Krewe of Dolly paraded for the first time and I hauled out my musical dress for the RHYTHM METHOD theme.

Nice to see so many friends again after being away for the summer. Great to hear good music and bittersweet to honor Dolly.

In August 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, JAMNOLA opened its doors with one mission. To support the cultural economy of New Orleans when tourism stood still.

And this city showed up!

Six years later, we’re still in awe of the love, the energy, and the community that carried us forward.

To our team, our crew, our artists, our city, we say thank yOU.
To the locals who embraced us and the visitors who continue to discover us, we shout thank you.

We’re proud of what we’ve built together. And we’re just getting started!

Shake our money maker….we will do one better! But you can be the vote on this one…..do we have….

1. Better dance moves than a second line on Bourbon Street.

2. Better dance moves than your inner Beyoncé in the kitchen

3. Better dance moves than your bestie after espresso martinis.

“The artists of New Orleans are one of our city’s greatest treasures,” said Walt Leger III, president and CEO of New Orleans & Company.

“Their work reflects who we are, where we’ve been and where we’re going. Every painting, sculpture, mural and performance adds another layer to the story of New Orleans. We’re proud to launch Living Artists Festival Month because we believe these artists deserve to be seen, supported and celebrated. By making it easier for people to discover their work, we’re helping ensure that the creativity that defines New Orleans continues to thrive for generations to come.”
