@sweetstheband kick off your Summer soundtrack Backstage@TheRoyal this Friday July 10th! With support from @willwhyteandthebrain 🎶 SWEETS is a genre-defying collective made up of members from some of Limerick’s most celebrated underground acts, including Tooth, Windings, Japanese Jesus and Trenchknife. Blending a fierce DIY ethos with sharp songwriting and sonic experimentation, their debut album made waves across the Irish music press, earning them a coveted spot on Hot Press’ ‘Hot for 25’ last year, culminating in a stellar set at Electric Picnic. Backstage is the place to be this summer, so book your tickets now at the link in our bio or on 051 874402 🎟️

EPISODE 11!!! \\ Cruagh \\ There are things in the woods that we just can’t explain. Like North America’s Sasquatch, Ireland’s own Cruagh (named after the woods in which they were discovered) have mankind further questioning the links between itself and nature. Scientists first began formal observation of these creatures in 2019. At first they believed the creatures to be fully mute, however in time their studies confirmed that they communicate telepathically or through percussive rhythms. In late summer 2024, the Irish Institute of Experimental Music (IEM) funded an initiative to provide the creatures with modern musical instruments in the hope it would provide further insight into how they communicate. \\ @scaredacat \\ ScareDaCat (scare-dah-cat) is a 5 piece Post-Punk / alt. Rock outfit established in 2022 from Wicklow, Ireland. They are releasing their debut single “GirlNxtDoor” on February 14th. \\ @grahamsweeney \\ Graham Sweeney is a singer-songwriter hailing from Achill Island, Co. Mayo. Known for his eclectic style, Graham masterfully blends traditional guitar playing with rhythmic vocal melodies and experimental sounds. The dramatic landscape and rich history of Achill Island serve as a constant source of inspiration, deeply influencing his poetic and musical artistry. \\ @willwhyteandthebrain \\ Will Whyte & the Brain Will (songwriter/player of all) first met with the brain in 2019 to begin what the world would some recognise as the perfect marriage, a human without a brain & a brain without a vessel. All music you hear was composed in an instant when they first bonded with a neural synaptic blast. Because of this the influences are irregular and distant.. expect Elliot Smith meets MBV with a tickle of Swans & lighting bolt. 26th of February at @lostlanedublin 8 euro advanced, 12 euro on the door Doors: 19.30 Show: 20.00 ✌️ 🐌
