Crystal Palace’s Bombay Potato Pie Tried to do the pie pre-game but due to an extended stay in the Battle Cruiser (boozer) and a trek into the deep south of London it was half-time again before I got my hands on one and all that was left was some sort of meatless thing, which goes against my beliefs. 🌡️ Temperature - 6.5 Hot without scalding my mouth. Just recovered from that lava I got served at United 🥮 Pastry - 8 Massive massive plus was the pastry. Hand made, flakey but not too dry and nicely garnished 🍱 Filling - 5.5 Taking it for what it was it was quite nice actually. A big plus was the size of the vegetables, nice and small meaning a variety in every bite. 💷 Price £6.50 - 4 🍻 6.5 Pints at point of consumption plus a Vodka Seltzer! 🟰 Overall Score 24 I mentioned it in the video but another plus was the presentation, goes along way in my eyes. A pie that’s not served in plastic is always a good start. A solid hearty pie from the Eagles made even tastier with 3 points. Onto the Toffees next Saturday. Scouse pie time?👀

ENGLISH STADIUMS* RANKED** *that I visited recently *by the quality of their steak/beef pie AFC Wimbledon 1-1 (5-4) Newport (8/8/2026) The first stadium pie I had. Loved how the Wimbledon logo was engraved into the crust. The pie accurately embodied the stadium experience: Great marketing all around with the actual product not being able to keep up with it. Still: Lots of love for the Wimbledon faithful. And we at least got to witness late drama and a win on penalties. 6/10. Queens Park Rangers 0-0 Bolton Wanderers (22/8/2026) The uncomfortable truth: All pies are ready-made and kept warm. The uncomfortable truth for QPR: Their pie tastes like it. Didn’t help that a bunch of Americans stood next to me while I ate it, trying to recollect the most basic information about the recent World Cup (everything they said was painfully wrong). Despite that, I enjoyed the friendly old school atmosphere around the ground, which not even tourists like me managed to destroy, yet. How QPR didn’t win by 3 goals or more remains a mystery. Maybe it was the pie. 5/10. Crystal Palace 1-4 Manchester City (28/8/2026) Pie as it should be. Crunchy crust. Loads of filling. Perfect balance between gravy and meat. Just about enough flavour. But not too much flavour either. This balance transferred to what happened on the pitch (one of the best set of goals I’ve seen live - Cherki, oh my word) in contrast to what happened in the stands (first game without Palace Ultras after 21 years). While the latter is an obvious 0/10, the pie gets a personally biased 10/10. Leeds United 1-1 Brentford (30/8/2026) Due to reconstruction, I couldn’t buy a pie anywhere around my stand. Tried to grab one from the media buffet. It almost worked. Well, after the game I at least discovered a shop called „Pieminister“ downtown after the game. In Leeds, not just the football team always finds a way. The pie itself was unremarkable, though. A slightly underwhelming 4/10. Aston Villa 0-1 Arsenal (31/8/2026) The pie resembled Villa’s football as it tasted rather Basque/Spanish than English. Minced meat inside, not too much liquid, surprisingly spicy. Probably a well deserved homage to Unai Emery. While I d

📅 15.08.2026 📍 Carrow Road, Norwich City (@norwichcityfc ) 🥧 Roast Chicken, Sage and Onion (@willys_pies ) 💴 £18.90 (2 x 🥧 & 2 x 🥤) The first weekend of the new EFL season is upon us and we have made our way to East Anglia and to Carrow Road, home to Norwich City. Today’s pie is a Willy’s Pie and is Roast Chicken, Safe and Onion. The pie had a crisp puff pastry lid which allowed flakes to fall away and float in the slight wind. A slight undercook on the second layer but other than that, the pastry was cooked all the way through and no soggy bottoms. The filling was full pieces of chicken in a creamy sagey sauce. Temperature was a little on the hot side! Presentation - each pie was presented in an unnecessary cardboard box with napkin as well as retaining its foil case. Wooden forks on offer. Price -2 x Pie and 2 x cold drinks £18.90 Overall rating 8.0 / 10.0 (Status quo from last season for The Canaries) #PieCharts #RateMyPie #AwayDays
