What an awesome surprise!!! I’m getting flooded with texts from friends back East that are getting ready to fish the Bassmaster Kayak Series Championship on Lake Murray. Apparently I’m getting honored with a trophy for breaking the coveted 200” mark in the Clear Lake event that I won back in June. I decided earlier this year that I wouldn’t fish the championship this year since I’m already planning a couple cross country trips next year for events. This is sure making me regret not going though!!!

Tournament season is winding down. It’s time to clean up the tackle room and get stuff organized. This is where the harsh reality of how much tackle I purchased throughout the year really hits. It’s almost embarrassing when you realize that the stuff I consistently use is already in the boat, kayak, and BlackPak. This would be the “extra” stuff for restocking, or seasonal tackle that doesn’t stay in my “everyday use”
stuff! Two more tourneys to go. I have the Wednesday Night Shootout TOC this week, and the Yamamoto Only Tournament on the 24th of this month. Then it’s on to duck hunting until February when my tourney season starts again with a cross country trip to South Carolina and Florida for two events on back to back weekends! #tackleaddict #hoarder #lockdownthecreditcards #buyingtacklebringsmepeace

This is what Saturday mornings are supposed to look like! Just myself, a Torqeedo powered Hobie Pro Angler 14, and oversized Clear Lake bass! This is one that even @rippn_lipps would be proud of!! 😂😂

Covering water is still the name of the game when I comes to putting big bags together on Clear Lake. The Torqeedo Travel Ultralight allows me to cover the miles needed to find the right ones!!! In this clip I was playing with new ways to capture footage of what I do on the water. Being a solo angler makes generating content a little more difficult and seeing the same old chest cam or over the shoulder videos gets a little boring. To get different angles you have think outside of the box and it helps to get a little lucky from time to time! Any ideas for future clips to get different perspectives? #clearlake #bassfishing #kayakfishing #afaw #aftcopro

Got it done this weekend back on Clear Lake! Was able to hold off Simon once again to take the win but he sure put up a fight!! Covered 18 miles Saturday and another 12 or so on Sunday with the Torqeedo Travel Ultralight to find the fish I needed. Such a fast and efficient motor that fits my style of Run-N-Gun fishing perfectly! I had a five fish limit for 37lbs on Saturday and put up another 34lb bag on Sunday thanks to the @yamamoto_fishing Uni Mas! My best fish of the weekend was a short 22” fish that weighed 8lbs 10oz and the smallest fish from my 111.75” total was 6.5lbs. Clear Lake continues to pump out giant bags solidifying its claim as the Number 1 Bass Lake in the Country!!

Quick update. Sitting at 111 1/2 inches at 10 AM! Simon is making me work for it though. He’s on a roll this morning so I can’t stop now! Caught a 7 1/2 pounder and one just shy of nine this morning as my two upgrades. Gotta keep it going!!

Finally found a good one!!! Filled a limit of 6 and 7 pounders pretty quick and then it took FOREVER to find an upgrade!!! Sitting in 1st place right now in the @yakabass Sandbagger Stopper tournament on Clear Lake with 109.25” for my best five fish. Still have tomorrow and going to see if we can get over 110” in this one!!

Every once in a while, I feel the need to prove to myself that I’m not a one trick pony. Getting it done old school this morning with a Jackhammer and a @yamamoto_fishing Zako. No scope needed!

Well well well!! Got it done finally in the West Coast Championship! After three seventh place finishes in as many years, I was finally able to seal the deal in this one! Almost felt like a repeat of the Bassmaster Kayak Series last month with me battling it out with @simonsaysher!! He definitely made me work for it!! Thanks to everyone that has sent me messages!!! We just landed in Anchorage for a week in the North! Can’t begin to tell you how hard I pushed the Torqeedo Travel Ultralight in this event! @aftco @aftcofreshwater @torqeedousa @torqeedo_group @wind_toys @gsmoutdoors @hobiefishing @dakota.lithium @procurebaitscents
