Thank you God for reminding me of the things that matter. For the blessing it is to be surrounded by so much love and laughter. For blessing me with so many people worthy of missing. For the blessing it is to take a break.

Sadly, I could have missed all the fun to keep working. Before going on this vacation, I debated staying back to finish summer flying. (I still plan on it, however later than I planned).

For those of you that really know me, you know I do not stop working for many reasons. In high school I was constantly practicing for a golf scholarship. God changed my plans but still blessed me to continue golfing at LETU. Now with flight training, I have not stopped since I started. I have been doing schoolwork since freshman year including the summers.

What unfortunately convinced me to go, were the major events that have happened this year. The most impactful though has been the loss of my two cousins. I lost a cousin so full of life who never failed to make me laugh. Who I always wished I saw more. Who I planned to take flying some day and who I planned to go on vacation with.

Sadly all of our plans were taken away with her passing. I could have taken breaks to see her more and I could have been more present when I was with her but I was constantly working for something.

This is a reminder to remember THE THINGS THAT MATTER. The time you get with your loved ones is precious so don’t waste it and take every chance you get.
