Come rain or shine, it’s always a great time to uplift Black women! Last Women’s History Month, Converge Media’s Chief Storyteller Winfield Ezell Jr. (@winezell) shared powerful and poetic words honoring the incredible Black women that have shaped Converge’s platform and legacy since its inception, and will continue to lead its mission for years to come.

The strength of Black Women at Converge is a radiant dawn, illuminating the platform’s highest peaks of leadership and its most resonant content. The Queens of Converge, including TraeAnna Holiday (@traeholiday), Besa Gordon (@besagordon), Takiyah “TDUB” Ward (@tdubcustoms), and Julia Jessie (@treasureofjules), are crowned for the deep well of their wisdom, their incredible expertise, and leadership that forges the organization’s resonance and reach. This collective of women is the loom upon which narratives are woven, their voices a central harmony in productions that lift the Black experience and etch a proud legacy into the soul of the Northwest’s Black community.

Beyond the Queens, the Black women of our communities are the architects of communal soul-healing and allow for the trees of our inspiration to take root. This intention breathes through the platform’s celebration of spaces like the WOW Gallery, a pulsating cultural hearth founded by Veronica Very (@veronicaverydavis), and the long list of Black women in business that help keep our local economies uplifted and our communities fed, equipped, and inspired for the chapters ahead.

To all the powerful Black women in our communities, we thank you endlessly for being the radiant pillars we need to progress as a culture, a community, and a world. Women’s History Month might have passed, but every day is a chance to feel the ferocious force of Black women and remind ourselves of their imperative contributions to everything we do.

Before the genesis of Converge, a profound void existed; an uncaptured history of Black life, culture, and excellence spanning the expansive Pacific Northwest. Driven by an unyielding passion for the soul of community storytelling, the Converge team wields the power of the camera not merely as a tool, but as an instrument of change. Through the enduring mediums of photography, video, and film, the voices of the underrepresented are not just heard; they are immortalized, etched forever into the historical record.

The unwavering covenant of Converge is to connect with humanity at its deepest core, to execute every narrative with a relentless and sacred intention, and to commit to a standard of work ethic known only to those who believe their mission is indispensable. From the celebrated validation of our Emmy-winning programs to the life-changing impact of the Support Black Business campaign to our dynamic documentary films, impactful TV specials, local and national broadcast TV shows, and long-lasting community partnerships, Converge stands as a thundering voice of the Northwest’s Black community and the legacy it is building. This is our calling, and this is the epic we write, day in and day out.

Are you looking for video production with the gravity of impact, the depth of true care, unshakeable commitment, and the delivery of concrete results? Then let your voice be heard by Converge Media: Production@WhereWeConverge.com

In honor of #WomensHistoryMonth, Converge Media’s Chief Storyteller @winezell offers this uplift to the countless amazing Black women who have graced this platform over the years including our very own Queens of Converge: @traeholiday, @treasureofjules, @besagordon, and @tdubcustoms. We thank you.

“Ah, the Black woman. A majestic being, sculpted by the hands of time and resilience. Her laughter echoes like wind chimes in a summer breeze, a melody that soothes the soul and ignites the spirit. Her eyes hold galaxies of wisdom, reflecting the stories of her ancestors and the dreams of generations yet to come. She is the earth beneath our feet, solid, unwavering, the bedrock upon which we build our hopes and aspirations.

She carries the weight of the world on her shoulders, yet she dances with grace and power. She nurtures us, protects us, and guides us with an unwavering love that is both fierce and gentle. Her strength is a beacon in the darkest night, a lighthouse guiding us safely to shore. She is the architect of our communities, the weaver of our traditions, the keeper of our sacred stories.

We honor her, we uplift her, we cherish her. For she is not just a woman, she is a force of nature, a divine spark, the very soul of our existence. And as we move forward into a brighter tomorrow, we do so with her spirit soaring high above us, a reminder of all that we are, and all that we can be.” - Winfield Ezell Jr.

From his early collaborations with Converge Media, including the Emmy-nominated “Reconciliation Tour” and the inspiring “Facing in the Reign,” to his current role as Chief Storyteller, Ezell’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of authentic narratives.

With a focus on community-focused storytelling, Ezell recognizes that narratives are born from the people and their lived experiences. “People are where stories come from,” he emphasizes. “It’s a 360 because people are also who engage in experience with the stories.”

2025 - This is a symphony of passion, purpose, and the unwavering dedication of our incredible team at Converge Media. We couldn’t be prouder of the stories we’ve brought to life, the voices we’ve amplified, and the joy we’ve shared over the past nine years.

From the insightful dialogues with TraeAnna Holiday on “The Day with Trae” to the vibrant artistry showcased on “Art of the Matter” with Takiyah Ward, the powerful narratives of “We Live in Color” with Deaunte Damper, and the cultural explorations of “Back2Besa” with Besa Gordon, our team has poured their hearts and souls into illuminating the multifaceted beauty of Black joy.

This journey wouldn’t be possible without the incredible talents of our writers, producers, directors, editors, photographers, and camera operators—the driving force behind every frame, every word, every emotion captured on screen. And to our viewers, our community, thank you for embracing our vision and for sharing in this celebration of Black excellence.

A special acknowledgment goes to Stephanie Johnson-Tolliver and the Black Heritage Society of Washington State, our steadfast partners and anchors in this work. Like the Sankofa bird, we learn from the past to build a brighter future, and Stephanie’s wisdom and guidance have been invaluable.

And to our elders, our ancestors, whose shoulders we stand upon, we give thanks. Your strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit pave the way for us to continue this legacy of storytelling.

We are Converge Media. We are storytellers. We are a reflection of the vibrant community that has welcomed us into their homes and hearts. Thank you for being a part of this extraordinary journey.

#100DaysOfAction — As Seattle and King County continue to seek lasting solutions to the pressing issue of gun violence, we are humbled to play a role in amplifying the voices of those working on the front lines.

We had the privilege of supporting @ConvergeMedia and @TraeHoliday at the iconic @STGpresents Paramount Theatre, where Trae led a week-long discussion with key leaders like Eleuthera Lisch and Ariana D. from the King County Office of Gun Violence Prevention. Their conversations centered on finding real solutions to end the violence affecting our communities.

A heartfelt thank you to the Seattle Theatre Group for providing a space for these crucial conversations and to all the community leaders and advocates who contributed to this important dialogue.

We’re proud to have played our part in bringing these voices to light, ensuring their impact resonates far beyond the stage. Together, we can amplify the work of those making a difference and help drive change.
