Often, and especially on the highest stages, athletes’ bodies, performances, and stories are told by, and observed by, others. The (Un)Seen Self is a new photo series from Athlete Ally which invites athletes to interrupt that pattern by sharing how they see themselves through a self-portrait representing something about their experiences in sport. Our first portrait features @winnie.bird. Swipe to read Winnie’s caption about why she chose this image. #selfportrait #seen

Love this from @winnie.bird who caught up with members of the @umichathletics Women’s rowing team to ask them what they’re celebrating and grateful for this week! What are y’all celebrating this week? #celebrate #grateful

Same mission, new “friends” 🙃. Today, we announce the 15 athletes joining us from across the country in our Fall 2026 Collective Cohort! Over the next few months, they’ll be taking on different activations aimed at building a culture of belonging and inclusion in sports. We can’t wait to be sharing with you their stories, experiences and work! #collective #athletes

Valuable perspective from @winnie.bird to keep in mind! Sometimes making someone feel safe and seen is showing them the compassion and giving them the space to not have to explain anything at all. Equally, creating space where someone feels as tho they can share is just as valuable. Part of allyship is meeting someone where they’re at. #allyship #compassion
