3 days, 4 events, 7 outfit changes, 11 performances, and an infinite amount of LOVE.

I’m back again with a highlight video from our traditional, Esan wedding ceremony. The coral beaded head adornment you see me in is called the “okuku” and took 2.5 hours to complete with my natural hair. A right of passage for an Esan bride that I was proud to experience. The woman who did the work has been doing it for over 50 years in my village in Esan (she flew to Abuja).

You’ll also see my father @iqbreeder placing an “ebu” on the head of @cstewart_5 and wrapping him with the traditional garb — officially making him and Esan man.

The ceremony closes with my father placing me into Chris’s lap seven times. On the seventh time, Chris must grab me tightly— showing he is strong enough to hold and protect me as his Esan Queen ❤️. Check out my stories for a few more of my favorite shots from this event.

Thank you to my mom, Aunty Bridget, @racheloseoseghale , and @lobeksjoseghale for doing such an amazing job on our fashion! They handled all of the outfits for me, Chris, and our traditional wedding party. Nearly 30 different outfits—not including their own and those for other family and friends!

Thank you so so much to our aso ebi for surviving the wildness of that day with us! There were times that REALLY tested us, but we made it through 😂❤️.

And thank you to the guests that so openly embraced my culture that day.
