I’ve been offline for a bit, but I have been making things very slowly! This was my first time dyeing yarn and it’s a handspun skein I spun up from a braid that I got from @winsomwool a while ago. @maddyprevost gave me her green dye, and in efforts to use up more of my stash, I now have green yarn! 🍀

There is a call to “SUPPORT” the local, small farm.
What a bothersome, patronizing, worn out word!
Support means to help, assist, prop up & carry.
.
Is that an accurate way to describe the
exchange of tender for local goods?
.
What about “INVEST”?
isn’t that a more appropriate term?
Do you realize that the money you leave on our table, travels on to other farms for supplies & into the pockets of tradespeople?
You invest in your neighbours, the land and community.
You invest in the skills, continuity, growth and security of everything that nourishes you and the spaces you live in.
.
When a farmer puts out their product,
it’s an gentle invitation to collaborate for a
good tomorrow.
.
Thank you for investing in our little farm.
You keep our flock, our soil, and our stories growing.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing our rugs become part of another human’s creative world.

@dearwoollie ‘s lovingly cared for wool looks right at home on this vintage Turkish mini.

Thank you for sharing the beauty with us 🤎

One of the beautiful things about rugs woven in story is how they attract folks living in story.

Deep, rich, vibrant, authentic are words that I would use to describe the tribe of hand woven rug lovers that appreciate the worn hands that created this magnificent art form.

Thank you @dearwoollielambs for placing in your home a Turkish tale 🤎

Planning has begun for the LMSPA 2025 Wool n Ewe a-Fair. With any big event there are many hands involved, in the scenes, behind the scenes, the local guild, each contributor is valued.
Vendor applications and exciting sponsorship opportunities will be offered here soon as well as a glimpse into the lives of the sheep who grow beautiful fibre.
…
Marianne has been a big part of this for many years, this season she welcomed me (Martina) on board. I’m grateful and so excited for the opportunity to facilitate connections between fibre arts community and the sheep farmers, building on the hard work and traditions of the past years.

when I open the gate.
BFL’s are first without doubt.
Crosses come up behind.
Icies & Scotties appear stand offish
but are wary as I am not carrying grain.

Have you ever heard
of wool pellets
& what they can do
for your garden?

Before we were sheep farmers, we were wool lovers, so unless I’m barefoot, there are wool socks on my feet.
In the lower mainland, it’s damp, sweater weather year round, except for the very peak of summer.
Playing musical chairs with the few treasured vintage wool blankets we have, swiping them from each others bed, not so much that it’s cold but the comfortable warmth that wool offers.
