The obligatory October Pumpkin. I didn’t film this one because I was teaching all day til 8pm and started baking at 9:30pm.

What changed with this pumpkin compared to my past pumpkins? No hairy asscracks. Why? The twine. I bring this up every fall. I try different ways to prevent the twine from fraying after the bake to avoid the hairy asscracks. The best way in the past was to generously dust my twine with rice flour.

However, I discovered the giant spool of butchers twine I’ve had for probably over a decade is actually not 100% cotton. I recently bought some organic cotton twine off Amazon. I didn’t do any soaking with oil, water, or rice flour. Just naked twine and guess what?! No more hairy asscracks!!!! I would call that a win.

If you’ve read this far, you’re my people. Let’s go have coffee. Goodnight. 😘

This loaf was made for my son and his FDNY house. Enjoy firefighters! ♥️ Well I bought one of those overhead tripod things, and did my best trying to make a fancy reel lol. But I think it’s beyond me… My fellow bakers make such beautiful posts. Gorgeous lighting, effects, etc. I wanted to give it a go. But it’s so time consuming and not gonna lie, HARD 😂. So…🤷‍♀️ this will have to do lol. @pixiedustcolor all natural dye free color makes it possible! @wiremonkeyshop best gooseneck lame @rosehillsourdough still my favorite bread mat C and the perfect size banneton in smooth finish for good bread art. @bulkabaskets for my lightweight carbon steel bread oven! @bake.lanon the best oven gloves for burn free baking. #fdny #bravest
