Isaac Jaló - Rua Augusta 2026

Next time you’re on Rua Augusta in Lisbon, look for Isaac. Meeting him and getting a poem from him was one of the highlights of my day. Using an old typewriter, he creates beautiful poems - you can choose one that’s already written or ask him to write a brand-new poem just for you. @wisdomoflisbon, thank you for your beautiful analogue way of creating such meaningful poems ✨ #lisboa #portugal #visitlisbon #streetartist #lisbontips

I was fortunate to find @1saacjalo on #rueaugusta in Lisbon. He was dressed sharply and hunched over his typewriter, nestled between souvenir shops and cafes filled with tourists. He was writing original poems for passers-by and I was curious what he had in mind for me. We had a wonderful conversation about life, art, creative process, business - and here’s what he came up with 💕🦋🏔️ Keep sharing your talents, my friend 💜✍️ @wisdomoflisbon #streetart #poetry #artistslife #solotravel

Olá Portugal, Bonjour & Dag Belgium, Hallo Luxembourg. Car crash & goose attack on a Wednesday? Flee the country on a Friday. 3 countries 17 sleeps away from this home in hostels & hotels & a place where the manager had pigeons she fed in her shop. I have collected memories from 31 countries with friends & alone. I tried vegan pastel de nata & bolo de mel & waffles & fish cakes & chocolate & [French or Belgian or just] fries. And I drank green wine & red wine & white wine [I guess I like wine?] & crémant & port & ginjinha & sangria & americano con gelo. And visited the most beautiful book store in the world & the oldest book store in the world & bought a book from both. And meandered in awe through museums & art galleries & the graffiti in the streets on government buildings & homes. And had a poem written for me by an artist on the street. And infiltrated the Four Seasons & snagged some skookum napkins. And kayaked through the Algarves. And dropped my almost brand new phone in the ocean in the Algarves. And subsequently dove into the Algarves to unsuccessfully rescue said phone. And let my salt water of anger & embarrassment blend in with the North Atlantic ocean’s salt water [& the shirt of the woman from Calgary who hugged me afterwards]. And climbed cliffs & caves & laurel trees & castle walls & palaces & church ruins & wells & waterfalls & above the clouds. And watched the sunset [in whipping winds] from the most southern tip of Portugal. And took a tile painting class. And made friends in a hostel who want to change the world. And took an 8 hour round trip train ride just to lunch in Luxembourg. And got caught in first class & sent downstairs-I wonder why they care when it was empty? And threw a couple coins in people’s hats or buckets as literal tokens of gratitude for singing or playing or creating art that I got to witness. I witnessed so much I can’t share in photos because I lost them to the ocean instead of the cloud. Maybe the quiet witnessing was just for me. Dead car battery on a Monday. Back to work on a Tuesday. I’m home. Obrigada, Portugal. Merci and bedankt, Belgium. Merci, Luxembourg. . . . #travel #Portugal #Belgium #adventure #photography
