Humble food. We start with the best single ingredient we can get our hands on: an heirloom cauliflower from @wiseearthfarm and the kitchen builds from there. We treat produce with care and creativity. The fall harvest is here, come see what we’re making of it.

APERO HOUR 4-5pm. It’s a warmup for dinner.
DINNER 5 onwards every night of the week.

Visited @capbridge to walk around the park and enjoy the incredible display of what nature offers combined with human ingenuity. Definitely a beautiful place worth visiting, as long as you aren’t afraid of heights or a wobbly bridge!
Have you ever visited the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park (just outside of Vancouver, B.C.)?

Sometimes simple is enough, especially when the ingredients speak for themselves!

Thank you to those in the fields, pastures, and oceans; where would we be without them.

“Farming feels like the most important thing I can be doing for my community right now. It also feels like one of the most challenging.”

This week, our farmers have been working through drought, extreme heat and now thick wildfire smoke. The skies are dark, the air is heavy and even routine tasks are taking a greater physical and mental toll.

While some work can be postponed, much of farming cannot. Crops are living, growing and time-sensitive. They still need water, care and harvesting, even when conditions make it difficult to be outside.

Our farmers continue to show up because feeding their community matters deeply to them. But that commitment does not make the work easy, and it should never be taken for granted.

When you visit the market this weekend, take a moment to recognize what it took to bring that food to the table. Your patience, kindness and support mean more than ever during weeks like this.

Everyone is aware that instagram and other social networks are mostly staged content to generate clicks and views. Yet somehow people all over the world strive to have what other people share with them in a 10 second clip. Gardening was never meant for comparison or competition but for a beautiful opportunity to learn. Thousands of tiny observations that teach us about nature and ourselves. As gardeners, new and experienced, we simply encourage an environment plants can thrive in and biodiversity can expand. We see cycles of life coming and going all the time when we are looking at the right things. Remember why you were drawn to the garden in the first place and forget about what others have or share online. Focus on growing with your garden and hold onto the many lessons it has to offer! Happy gardening!
