NEW MUSIC MONDAY 🎧⚡️

@emigrace on the cover this week, and we’re leaning into LIVE. if you have live shots, stage pics, crowd moments… send them our way. we want to see artists doing what they do best.

also, someone recently asked us not to include them on New Music Monday because it’s mixed genre and we were like… really? 😭

we love mixed genre. indie, pop, alt, rock, r&b, hip-hop, electronic, whatever else you’re making. pretty sure there isn’t a genre we don’t listen to over here.

keep the submissions coming. we genuinely love hearing what everyone is making.

and if you’re a fan watching all of this, tell us who you are 👀 we’ve got a festival ticket giveaway coming and you’re going to want in.

swipe through this week’s picks. 🖤

new music monday 🖤

we’re pushing the independents hard this week. they work like crazy, take the risks, build their own worlds + keep making the music scene way more interesting.

the indie kids are absolutely doing it right now.

the full playlist

solo artists. bands. collabs. all of it.

we love shouting out everyone on the playlist because every one of these artists brought something different this week.

so yeah, we’re naming names. go find your new favorite.

wendy wang, “a man”

wendy wang took inspiration from her pet snake, draco malfoy, and somehow turned it into this sleek, cold, slightly conflicted alt-rock moment.

electric guitar, piano + synths all wrapped into something dark and really addictive.

and the video? it takes the whole mood even further. 🖤

zoe bayani, “crave”

zoe bayani is one of those artists who never plays it safe creatively, and “crave” is exactly why we love what she does.

born out of frustration with womanhood, objectification + all the anger that comes with being made to feel small, the song turns that tension into something loud, cathartic and seriously fun to watch unfold.

you can hear the 90s grunge influence all over it too. smashing pumpkins, veruca salt, hole, the breeders... but still completely zoe.

and now she gave “crave” its own video. of course she did.

darro, “back again”

darro has already fought his way back through more than most artists ever will, relearning how to speak and sing after battling a tumor. and now he’s pushing the music forward too.

“back again” feels like a new chapter. brighter, more pop-forward + built around a huge hook, but still carrying the weight of leaving home, cutting ties and letting go of everyone else’s expectations.

this era suits him.

pure xtc seriously never stops. somehow she’s always on a stage somewhere and still finds time to get back in the studio and make something this good.

this one leans into reckless devotion, blurred memories + the kind of love that leaves a mark long after it’s gone.

nostalgic, intimate, a little messy in the best way.

shows. new music. repeat. she stays working.

vivian phong ngo, “can we get a little messy?”
