🦉 Sometimes it’s the smallest design decisions that make the biggest difference.

This stunning transformation by @katflips_ is a beautiful example of how thoughtful details can completely change the character of a piece.

The delicate beading along the top creates a beautiful balance with the scalloped base, while repositioning the handles brings a lovely sense of proportion to the design.

We especially love the rich, moody timber finish, subtle grain and understated styling. There’s something wonderfully timeless about the finished piece.

Kat completed her transformation with Wise Owl Paint Matte Clear Top Coat, giving the surface a protective finish while preserving its beautifully understated appearance.

A gorgeous reminder that sometimes the magic is in knowing exactly what a piece needs.

Beautiful work, @katflips_ 🤎

This was a slightly different one for me.

A lovely lady from Holmfirth had been looking for somebody to upcycle a metal filing cabinet and found me through Facebook. Her partner lives in Shepley (like me!), so she dropped it off for me to have a look at.

I hadn’t worked on metal before, so I asked for some advice in the @wiseowlpaint Facebook group before getting started. After a thorough clean and sand, I used two coats of their Coffee Bean primer followed by three coats of One Hour Enamel in Poseidon, then cleaned up the original pulls.

I was really pleased with how it turned out, and when I shared the finished cabinet back in the group, Wise Owl asked if they could share it on their own Facebook and Instagram pages too, which was a rather nice surprise! There were some lovely comments as well, including somebody saying it was “too pretty to be a filing cabinet” 😄

I’d definitely do another one, so if you’ve got something slightly unusual that you’re wondering whether I could work on, feel free to send me a message and pics.

This one had a complete change of direction.

I first painted it in the grey you can see if you scroll through the photos - and it was perfectly nice, but it just wasn’t getting much interest, so I decided to have another go.

This time I used @wiseowlpaint One Hour Enamel in Overland Green, kept the top in wood by stripping, sanding and re-staining it, and added a gold pull to the drawer with a patterned liner inside.

For me, this version works so much better: same table, same shape, but a completely different feel.

It’s now available for £120.

H70 W78 D38cm.

Collection from Shepley, Huddersfield. Local delivery available for fuel, or send me a postcode for a courier quote.

Which version do you prefer, the grey or the green?

A little Facebook Marketplace find turned into THIS🤎

Here’s the recipe:

1. Find a piece on Marketplace that you probably don’t need 😂
2. Sand that top alllll the way down (120 → 180 → 220)
3. Scuff sand the body and drawers
4. Remove the legs and strip them bare
5. Paint wash the top + legs TWICE, then seal them
6. Tape, prime, and paint 🎨
7. Give those metal leg caps a little makeover, too
8. Add new hardware + fresh drawer liners

And BOOM 💥 A whole new piece!!

Now tell me… are we team natural wood + paint, or are we keeping it ALL wood?!👀👇🏼

🦉 A little colour. A completely new perspective.

Sometimes the most striking furniture transformations come from knowing what to keep, what to change and where to introduce a little contrast.

These once-dated bedside tables have been beautifully reimagined by Kaitlyn of whowoodathoughtfurniture, using Wise Owl Paint One Hour Enamel in Abyss.

The deep, sophisticated blue/green brings a richness to the original cabinetry, while the freshly stained natural timber bases introduce warmth and a contemporary edge. Antique brass knobs provide the finishing touch, complementing both the colour and timber beautifully.

What makes this transformation particularly lovely is its simplicity. The original proportions and traditional detailing remain, but the combination of colour, natural timber and understated hardware gives these pieces an entirely new identity.

A beautiful reminder that good furniture doesn’t need replacing. Sometimes it simply needs reimagining.

🦉 A beautiful balance of vintage character and understated elegance.

These gorgeous bedside tables have been thoughtfully reimagined by Wise Owl Paint Australia Ambassador @katflips_, with a rich, warm timber-look finish that celebrates their original craftsmanship.

From the graceful cabriole legs and delicate beaded detailing to the beautifully aged hardware, every element feels considered. The soft brown tones bring warmth and depth without overwhelming the furniture’s original character.

To complete the transformation, Kat chose Wise Owl Paint Matte Clear, providing a protective finish while preserving the natural, understated appearance of the surface.

A lovely reminder that timeless furniture doesn’t need to be reinvented, simply given the care and attention it deserves.

🦉 Some furniture simply deserves to be rediscovered.

This beautifully refinished bedroom suite by @barnowlinteriors is a wonderful example of how a considered colour choice can transform traditional furniture without compromising its character.

Finished in Wise Owl Paint One Hour Enamel in Inkwell, the deep, understated blue brings a sense of quiet sophistication to each piece. The original curves and detailing remain central to the design, while the warm brass hardware provides a subtle, elegant contrast.

What makes this transformation particularly lovely is the cohesion across the entire suite. Each piece retains its individual charm, yet together they feel beautifully resolved.

Thoughtful restoration, timeless colour and craftsmanship worth celebrating.
