Turns out….people are excited about learning how to interview their parents and loved ones before they’re dead and gone. They end up learning about themselves….
 I’m Wilkine Brutus, founder of @mapsanddiaries. This time I partnered with @offtheclockeditions for my Preserve Voices Workshop & Gathering.   First we started upstairs, co-owner Horace Henry brought the live music to set the intellectual mood.   Then we made our way downstairs…. @wishlade playing in the background.   We got to it…my 5 essential interviewing skills…teaching people what to say and how to say it.
 And demonstrating what not to say, using film to get us through the art of storytelling.  
The hilarious breakout sessions…pairing people up with strangers for the duration of the evening is the signature part of the event.
 So you aren’t just learning how to interview your parents and loved ones with the precision of a journalist and the heart of a storyteller, you’re also making new connections.   As we age, stories fade. Archive them, you beautiful mammals!

Tonight I got to witness Two of my boys doing things they always dreamed of and being able to be a part of watching it all unfold. Happy 8 Years “Apologies in Advance.”

If somebody would have told me in 2017/18 that I wouldn’t drop another album for at least 8 years, I’m not sure what I would have said honestly. However, very grateful for this body of work changing my life forever.
