MASH ~ Link in bio

‘Mash’ began as a throw away idea for a slapped together film using surplus footage from shooting for Noz Vid for the past 3 years.

The idea of piecing together a session based film seemed practical and was a point of difference from the bombardment of the A grade cle of Noz Vid.

Fast forward a year and we’d accrued a shit tonne of exceptional footage thanks to Noa’s obsessive compulsive surfing problem.

For me it’s just never sat well - putting all this energy into a project, dropping it online and then boof! Gone. I dunno, maybe there is something to be said about the transience of it all..

One thing is certain. It feels like a special time in ‘free’ surfing. The sheer volume of high end films being released, the level of riding, and the way we digest these laborious projects has shifted with the return of premiere tours and ‘real’ human interaction.

Going ‘indie’ on it and selling the film is a bit of an experiment to see if we can make this a viable option for future projects. So we’ll see how that goes..

Massive thanks to all the contributing filmers, musicians, artists, and Nog for having faith in this unpredictable prone riding maniac to create something that goes a little deeper and scrapes the surface of what it means to be Nog in 2023.

Love and gratitude. Jim ❤️
