And there she is!

A 1972 VW Super Beetle. A whole lot of hand-drawn, hand-plasma-cut flowers. And one creative bucket-list project officially checked off!

When I heard the theme for this year’s ArtFest was 1970s Vinyl, I knew exactly what I wanted to create and I jumped in!

I’ve always loved the way light and shadows interact with my metalwork, and this project took that obsession to a whole new level.

The best part? This one was created for a cause that matters.

I donated 100% of my time to bring this project to life, and 100% of the proceeds from its sale will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Kern County.

The Beetle is available for purchase through BGCKC’s Art on the Grand Scale program.

Seriously friends…. I don’t even have words. I’ve spent the last 5 days rewatching episodes to pull clips for this special episode…. and all over again - I have been inspired, I’ve been brought to tears, and I’ve laughed (with my guests, and mostly AT myself 😂).

It honestly so often feels like I’m just talking into a vacuum with this show…. Starting over on YouTube was harder than I expected, and growth has been slow. The losing Facebook was a massive hit. But this process has re-energized me and reminded why I do what I do and why it matters. And it’s not about number of views, it’s about SO.MUCH.MORE.

I’ve also been reminded why I do them live…. because a video editor, I am NOT. 😂😅 This was a TON of work especially since I was fumbling through learning to edit as I went. And I cannot express how much I wish I had more time to pull more clips, there are so many amazing women that have been guests but are not represented because I simply ran out of talent and time (I feel like that’s the story of my life some days. 😅)

Next to order a new wiper knob bc I broke it - it was taking too long and replacing it is $3 so broke it.
