Wow y’all what do I even say?! Where do I even begin?! What an absolutely epic and unbelievable time in NYC as always! So many special moments throughout the trip with some of the biggest ones being seeing Wicked and a SOLD OUT Friday night MJ show on Broadway, Rowan doing his signature MJ move all throughout the city and then finally getting to do it with the absolute legend that plays MJ in the musical and putting on my Ray Ban’s he was wearing anytime MJ put them on in the show, skipping through the subway stations and down the streets with excitement, Landon meeting some of the coaching staff for Spain on the Staten Island Ferry, seeing some wonderful and familiar faces and so many other incredible and unforgettable memories. I always get so overwhelmed with emotions whenever moments turn into memories but wow I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you NYC for giving us the best experience possible and stories we’ll be telling for years to come. 🗽🎭🎶🥰🥹

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 To quote a gay icon: 🎶 I’m beautiful in my way / ‘Cause God makes no mistakes / I’m on the right track, baby / I was born this way 🎶

I’m Proud to be me: born Deaf, gay, and an ASL signer! I’m also so grateful for all the wonderful people in this reel ☺️ (Yes, everyone is Deaf/hard-of-hearing 🧏 in this except for the hearing ASL drag queen—with the Deaf drag queen—and Barry’s instructors but they’re super 🌈G-A-Y, so that makes up for it 😆😆😆) And I am wearing @michaelkors Pride sequin shirt 💋💋💋

Happy Pride, y’all 🤟🏼🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We got to see the newest @deafwest production of @elephantshoesmusical at the @tworivertheater this past Thursday evening, and it was amazing! I was asked to capture some casual snaps as people came & went. It was so nice seeing some old & nrw faces! I definitely didn’t get to say hi to everyone - so many people! The vibe was buzzing.

The cast did amazing. I recommend!!! 👀🙌🏻⭐️

Circle of Life was more than an event… it was a return to self.

A space where strangers became mirrors, stories became light, and presence became the gift✨

Thank you to everyone who showed up fully, honestly, and with heart. You made the room what it was.

And we’re not done yet…
Next experience: May 16 💫

Come as you are. Leave transformed.

Throwback Thursday: six years ago today in 2020, we were in the midst of premiering Deaf Broadway’s third show, a virtual sign-through of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s COMPANY. Three years later, in the summer of 2023, some of the same actors would reprise their roles in the live version at Lincoln Center, a performance dedicated to the memory of Lewis Merkin, our original Larry.

ID: a full, transparent martini glass sits in the center of a plain white background. A green olive splashes into the glass. At the top in thin, blue font reads “Deaf Broadway presents an all-ASL reading of COMPANY.” A column lower left in the same font reads: with Norma Aldana, Christopher DeSouza, Sandra Mae Frank, Darren Fudenske, Gregor Lopes, Raquel McPeek, Lewis Merkin, Malik Paris, Jackie Roth, Gabriel Silva, Neil Sprouse, Chris Tester, Amber Zion, and Garrett Zuercher. At the right, the same font reads, “April 29-May 1. @DeafBroadway on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. deafbroadway.com.”

De sista sex månaderna var en resa jag inte visste att jag behövde.

Tre bröllop och ett dop.
Kendrick Lamar-konserten.

Jag blev inspirerad.
Började springa igen efter många år.
Hela hösten hittade jag glädjen i träning.
I kroppen. I andetaget.

Here’s my poem from the final round of Sign Slam 2025! This competition was hosted by @aslslam and @slamrowff last April. In each match, two poets had one minute to study an image, then 90 seconds to respond with sign language poetry. The audience and two judges decided who would advance. It was an incredible honor to place first in this competition and to share the stage with amazing poets. Congratulations to @iambellamie and @jamilao for placing too! Thanks to @withjackieroth and @giuseppegiuranna_vv for judging. Those of you well-versed in ASL poetry…can you spot the homage to my colleague (and childhood hero), @deafpetercook, in this poem?
