The former Chase Bank in Wilmette, Illinois, is being transformed into a 24 hour emergency veterinary hospital operated by MedVet.

Located at 50 to 60 Skokie Boulevard, the nearly 6,000 square foot former bank building is undergoing renovations to accommodate the new veterinary facility.

Plans include four examination rooms, emergency and intensive care areas, surgical facilities, X ray capabilities, a designated outdoor pet relief area, and additional building improvements.

MedVet plans to provide emergency veterinary services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, bringing another option for urgent pet care to Chicago’s North Shore.

The project received a unanimous recommendation for zoning approval in December 2025. An official opening date has not yet been confirmed.

The property is located across the street from the anticipated new Buttermilk Cafe and within an established Wilmette shopping center.

Would a 24 hour emergency veterinary hospital be a welcome addition to the area?

$6,000,000 thanks to you 🤍

This year alone, North Shore Exchange is giving $750,000 to organizations working to support people in poverty, our largest year of giving yet.

And for the first time, our impact is reaching beyond Chicagoland with a grant to Feeding America, alongside the incredible local organizations doing critical work right here in our community.

Every time you shop with us, consign with us, tell a friend about us or simply help spread the word, you’re part of this.

More than $6 million given since 2013. And we’re just getting started.

Thank you for shopping, selling and giving back with us ❤️
