When Decatur residents Rebecca Mobley and Mandi Oeland went looking for e-bikes that reflect their creative personalities, they came up empty. So the entrepreneurial duo decided to make their own. 🚲 They are launching WKND Bikes with their first limited edition drop on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 4-7 p.m. at Huckleberry’s Corner Store, where Oakhurst meets East Lake. Well, I can finally share what we’ve been working on. 🚲 For the past year, Mandi and I have been building something that started with a pretty simple idea: we wanted eBikes that felt more like us. Fun. Thoughtfully designed. Full of color. Bikes we’d be excited to ride around Atlanta with our families and friends—and that made getting from one place to another feel like part of the fun. So, we made them. Meet WKND eBikes. We’ve spent the last year designing bikes, choosing every color and component, testing and tweaking, learning an entirely new industry, and putting a lot of ourselves into getting this right. And now they’re finally here. Our first drop is ATL 100—just 100 bikes in limited-edition colors inspired by Atlanta. The city where this whole thing started. Starting a new business is equal parts exciting and terrifying, and this is the part where I ask for a little help from my people. ❤️ Follow @wkndebikes. Share it with your friends. Send us to someone who’s been thinking about an eBike. Come take one for a ride. Every follow, share, introduction, and word-of-mouth recommendation means more than you know right now. I’m incredibly excited to finally put WKND out into the world. Here’s to more good days, more long ways home, and a lot more color along the way. Built for the Good Days. @wkndebikes wkndbikes.com
