In May, 16 ISU students participated in the study abroad program "From Jungle to Reef: Tropical Ecology, Marine Biology, and Cultural Diversity in Belize", led by Drs. Andrew Somerville (WLC) and Corinna Most (EEOB). On this trip, students experienced bird banding and bat mist-netting, hiked tropical jungles, swam in cenotes and in the open ocean snorkeling on the coral reef, visited Maya archeological sites and made tortillas from scratch at a modern Maya cultural center, and helped prepare a traditional Garifuna meal! It was a whirlwind of activities over the course of just two short weeks!
