From Tanzania to Bilbao 🌍✈️🇪🇸

Some of the Federation EIL family are together this week at @wystc_conference in Bilbao!

@anaeseverri, Director of @aipcpandora, and @bettina_wiedmann, Director of @experiment.ev., are joining youth and educational travel organisations from around the world to connect, learn and share ideas.

And joining them is Kaitin, a Pandora student who spent this summer in Tanzania! 💛

We love seeing the different sides of our network come together, from the people creating opportunities for intercultural exchange to the young people actually living those experiences.

Because behind every partnership, programme and conversation are experiences that help people discover another culture, another perspective and a little more about themselves. 🌏

Have a wonderful WYSTC, Ana, Bettina and Kaitin!

After a really fun session at @uva with Ms. Meg, we spent some time in downtown Charlottesville. We tried new food, enjoyed a live music event, went shopping, and simply enjoyed the atmosphere.
But honestly, I’ve always believed that it’s the people, not the place, that make each and every experience memorable.
I was lucky to meet so many genuinely kind and welcoming people—far too many to fit into one post. Spending time with them gave me a different perspective, and I learned something from each of them. Their leadership skills truly inspired me, and I know what I learned from them will add a lot to the way I approach what I do. 🤍
I hope our paths cross again someday. 🤍

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting students from @worldlearning for an immersive farming experience here at Agriturismo San Desiderio, nestled in the rolling hills of Nizza Monferrato 🇮🇹

There’s nothing quite like seeing the next generation roll up their sleeves and connect with the land. From learning about traditional agricultural practices to tasting the fruits of our labor, it was a day filled with curiosity, laughter, and genuine cultural exchange.

Set in the heart of the UNESCO-listed Monferrato region, our agriturismo is more than just a farm—it’s a living classroom. Thank you to the incredible students and their teachers for bringing such wonderful energy to our hills. We hope you left with full hearts (and full bellies!) and a deeper appreciation for where your food comes from.

Until next time! 👋

🎉 ITALIAN PRIDE IN JAPAN! 🇮🇹🇯🇵

A huge round of applause for @leo.epo_ , from Liceo Scientifico Vercelli in Asti, who won the Global Leaders Scholarship by ExperimentItalia and is heading to Japan to represent Italy in the @federationeil Global Youth Leadership Program! 🌏✨

Leonardo stood out for his genuine curiosity, open-mindedness, and drive to step out of his comfort zone. Now, two life-changing weeks await him!

HERE’S WHAT AWAITS HIM:

Homestay experience – Living with a local family in Okinawa, fully immersed in Japanese and Ryukyuan culture

School & peer exchange – shadowing Japanese students during the first week

Global themes – sustainability, peace, social justice, and leadership

Final stop in Tokyo – the best of both traditional and modern Japan

Subtropical climate: sun, sea, and lots of warmth

The program is led by experienced coordinators, with pre-departure preparation, health insurance, and full support throughout. This is so much more than a study trip, it’s a deep dive into global leadership.

A huge thanks to @eiljpn Japan for creating such an amazing program!

Do you dream of an adventure like this?
Keep an eye on ExperimentItalia for upcoming calls and start getting ready!

Good luck, Leonardo. You’re making us all proud. Go and get inspired! 💪🚀

Some journeys change coordinates. Ours changes perspectives. 🌸🇯🇵

We didn’t design this summer program just to show teens Japan. We created it to let Japan show them who they’re becoming.

This isn’t a vacation. It’s a guided passage, rooted in respect, built for growth, and designed to linger long after the passport stamps fade.

We walk beside young minds as they learn the weight of a bow, the patience of a traditional craft, and the beauty of stepping outside everything they’ve known. Not to escape their world, but to return to it wider, wiser, and more awake.

🚀 More than 500 young people. Two cities. One shared goal: shaping the future by acting on it.

We’re proud to highlight the 7th edition of Ford Driving Dreams, led by @fordphilanthropy and @fordspain, and implemented in Spain by @aipcpandora, member of Federation EIL 🤝

💡 This year, young participants came together in Madrid and Valencia to tackle real social challenges through innovation and teamwork.
🎤 The journey ended in a dynamic final event, where projects were presented to experts and professionals.

🏆 Three winning teams will now receive funding, mentoring, and training to bring their ideas to life.

🌍 Since 2019, the program has empowered over 3,700 young people to turn ideas into impact.

As Ana Eseverri Mayer, Founder and Director of AIPC Pandora and member of Federation EIL, says:
“Experiences like this empower young people not only to understand the world, but to act on it.”

Part 1: La Dolce Vita Awaits 🇮🇹

Where do I even begin? Italy isn’t just a place; it’s a feeling. It’s the golden hour light washing over ancient cobblestones, the sound of an accordion drifting from a hidden piazza, and the scent of espresso and freshly baked cornetto mingling in the morning air.

This is a land where beauty lives in every detail. In the sun-bleached linen drying between pastel buildings, in the perfectly twirled fork of pasta al pomodoro, and in the timeless smile of a nonna watching the world go by.

Italy teaches people about grandeur, where history isn’t confined to museums, but it’s the very foundation you walk on. Every fountain, every ruins, whispers a story millennia old.

We were so lucky to have our Latin American Youth Ambassadors (LAYA) as our last in person exchange of 2025. This program was incredibly fun and allowed us to turn dreams into reality. Hailing from Central America, the youth and mentors arrived with curiosity, joy, energy, and passion for doing their part to make their home communities thrive, and to build bridges with Kalamazoo, and so many bridges were built!

We had a great time at our welcome potluck where the youth ambassadors shared traditional dances and music from their countries. The entire program was filled with a celebration of exchange. Whether it was touring downtown Kalamazoo, having lunch together, or even bus rides to meetings, they were always laughing and sharing stories. While they had fun, they also focused during meetings with professionals, and asked good questions. They met with and visited El Concilio, Vice Mayor Jeanne Hess, Western Michigan University professionals, Gull Meadow Farms, Kalamazoo Valley Community College Food Innovation Hub, and American Red Cross of Southwest Michigan. They also visited the Kalamazoo Public Library and the Kalamazoo Valley Museum, volunteering at the Open Roads Bike Program, attending a Glass Art Workshop, visiting the Gilmore Car Museum and the AirZoo Museum, and attending multiple small Halloween parties. One of the more fulfilling moments was watching their media projects/ vlogs made at Public Media Network! They edited and filmed their own videos throughout their time with us to present on their second-to-last full day of programming. We got to hear more about the inspiring community projects that they will implement back home, and with the help of those they met in Kalamazoo, they were able to get their questions answered and finalize their plans of action. It was exciting to see them arrive and we hated seeing them go. The relationships built are only in their infancy. All the thanks to our implementing partners Georgetown University and World Learning for sending this group to Kalamazoo, to the U.S. Department of State funding and believing in youth leadership, and most especially to our Kalamazoo host community for making this program special!
