Even though I've been to Washington, DC countless times in the past, the majority of my trips have been for work. I've always wanted to explore the city as the locals do, outside of visiting the well-known monuments and Smithsonian museums. On recent trips I've discovered so much more Washington, DC has to offer, and this last trip it really felt like I got to live like locals do. @visitwashingtondc #only1DC

We stayed at @TheLineHotel in Adams Morgan, a neighborhood in the Northwest quadrant of the city, a vibrant and culturally diverse area that is called "AdMo" by locals. I loved our Landmark Studio Suite with this sitting area by the floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the action on the streets.

@Amtrak from NY Penn Station to DC Union Station is so convenient, with a trip time just slightly over 3 hours, even on the Regional train line! It's just a bit longer than the Acela trip and worth the lower ticket price and unbelievably comfortable with plenty of legroom and comfortable wide seats. If you book ahead of time you can usually catch one of their sales and get a great deal. Keith loved riding the Amtrak since he's used to driving everywhere, and the views of the water and sunsets are great.

Us chillaxin' on the train 😎

Our room at @TheLineHotel in Adams Morgan was so comfortable, with a setup like a studio apartment. It was spacious and decorated with vintage art deco furniture and an excellent king size bed.

The building that houses @TheLineHotel's lobby was originally a neoclassical church with huge sweeping ceilings, stained glass windows and even a chandelier made of repurposed organ pipes.

I always recommend choosing a hotel with a great dining options, and their bar at @NoGoodbyes_DC is popular with hotel guests and locals, showcasing Lukas' hand-crafted spirits and liqueurs in his thoughtful bar program.

The food is great too! We had both lunch and brunch in their atrium room, where we saw many locals doing the same.

I loved walking around the neighborhoods and admiring the design, vibrant colors and quaint architecture of DC's rowhouses. Georgetown's residential side is adorable as well as the more grander Dupont Circle houses.

Popped into DC for a few days back at the beginning of June. Saw my buddy @lukewaldenstrom, played some golf (more on that in a coming post), and saw @hellohonne play a vibey show at the Lincoln Theatre.

Here’s some digital in slides 1-6, and the remaining on color shifted #lomochromemetropolis 35mm. @lomography

Landscapes first.
