When I was a kid I had to do a report on broadcasting and publishing…

I fell in love with the idea…

When I was in tenth grade Jaime Talley came to my class at Tech to give a presentation about Youth Radio… My dad used to live up the street from KPFA and wanted me in the program as soon as he found out my love for writing.

I eventually got into YR and as much as I loved writing, radio broadcasting hooked me!!

I loved writing and reading commentaries on air but I LOVED hosting a radio show.

Little did I know it wasn’t just a love, it was genetic.

My senior year of high school I found out my grandfather had a huge radio following back in Pennsylvania.

Like, this was something that was destined to be.

Over the years I’ve realized my calling—community work, but media always calls me back.

Since my journey back into school the thing I said from the beginning was that a media focus was always a part of it.

The first school I looked at… I just heard back.

So that’s now TWO SCHOOLS DOWN AND ONE MORE TO GO!
