You don’t want to miss this phenomenal evening with some incredible human beings. Supporting a worthy cause on January 17th in Malibu.

I’m honored to be part of Mission Project Malibu. We are bringing together, headliner music artists, great food + plus drinks, and auction and some amazing partners. All in honor of real heroes and to shine a light on this mission.

It’s hard to believe it has been one year since the tragic Malibu, Palisades, Altadena fires.

I remember like yesterday volunteering working shifts at various security checkpoints around the Palisades area. Primary objective was to prevent looting and people entering the burned out areas.

One early morning at first light a middle-aged couple approached our checkpoint. Clearly distraught, both pleaded to visit the side of their home. As they pointed, just past the blockade they said see officer there’s our home. As you looked as far as the eye could see, There was nothing but ashes & rubble, palm trees burnt to the core and chimneys randomly standing. Vehicles parked curbside, many burnt and you could faintly see the outline of what appeared to be property lines.

I walked with the couple about 50 yards to what was once their home. The wife described it as their dream home that they worked 20 years to save for while working in Hollywood. They asked if they could look through the property. All I saw was several feet of ash but they asked to look around. We granted their wish and returned to our post 50 yards away. For over three hours, this amazing couple were on their hands and knees, digging through debris and ash.

After hours of digging, they walked back towards us, smiling, and crying at the same time. They opened their backpack and showed us a small granite urn that held their daughter‘s ashes, her grandfathers dog tags from World War II and the wife’s engagement ring from 25 years ago. I remember telling them we were sorry for their loss. They responded. They will buy another house somewhere, but these priceless momentums will carry them for the rest of their journey. After granting many more people access to their property. It reminded me what’s important in life ❤️
