Date night took a spooky little detour last night! 🖤🌙 We went to see The Addams Family the Musical at Wolfbane in Appomattox, and just LOOK at this setting. An outdoor stage surrounded by trees, all lit up for Halloween? The atmosphere deserves its own round of applause. 👏🍂

Such a fun way to spend a fall evening right here in Virginia!

Have you been to Wolfbane yet? 🎭

In honor of Spooky Season, we’ve been asking our musicians to share their scary stories. Rehearsal Pianist Deniz Uz’s tale of a missed cue is sure to keep you awake at night! 😱 🎶

Know what scares us? The thought that anyone would miss out on LSO and Wolfbane’s Sweeney Todd because they waited to buy tickets. We open Friday 10/23! 🎟️ at the link in our bio. 🔪 🩸 🎶

Thank you @lynchburgva for a James River Arts and Culture grant making this collaboration possible. ❤️

A little behind-the-scenes peek at rehearsals for Sweeney Todd! 🔪🩸🎶

For the past two weeks, LSO Music Director David Glover and rehearsal pianist Deniz Uz have been working with the incredible Wolfbane cast, bringing the music of Stephen Sondheim’s masterpiece to life.

And here’s something you might not know: during these actor-only rehearsals, Deniz plays a reduced version of ALL the orchestral parts on the piano. 🎹 That’s quite a job with only 10 fingers! But don’t worry, we’ve also had a little fun with dinner breaks to fuel these guys for their work. 🍕

Next week, the orchestra joins the fun as we continue rehearsals to bring this thrilling collaboration to the stage.

We can’t wait for opening night! 🖤🎻 Thank you to @lynchburgva for a James River Arts and Culture District grant that is making this amazing collaboration possible.

Being a musician can be pretty scary at times…
Instrument disasters! 💥 Creepy-crawly wedding “guests!” 🐜 And HAIL?! 🧊😱 Our musicians have experienced some truly terrifying moments on the job. LSO violinist Ellen Murch shares her top three.

Know what’s REALLY scary? How fast Sweeney Todd tickets are disappearing. Only a handful of seats remain for this first-of-its-kind LSO + @wolfbaneproductions collaboration! 🎟️ Check the link in our bio before it’s too late 💀🩸

The LSO’s participation in this collab is supported by a generous grant from @lynchburgva … Thank you! ❤️

Looking for a spooky-season night out? 🖤 @wolfbaneproductions is bringing The Addams Family Musical to the outdoor stage at Wolf PAC in Appomattox this fall, with performances running through October 17.

Expect Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, and the rest of the wonderfully weird Addams crew—plus plenty of music, laughs, and just the right amount of October mischief.

When your instrument is the size of a piece of furniture, things can get complicated…🪉

We’ve been asking our musicians to share their scariest stories in honor of Spooky Season. 👻 Principal Harpist Kristin Szandzik has some supersized horror scenarios!

Don’t miss your chance to see and hear your LSO bring a spooky story to life with @wolfbaneproductions this October. Tickets for Sweeney Todd have almost completely vanished! Check the link in our bio before it’s too late 🎟️

The LSO’s participation in this epic collab is funded in part by a James River Arts & Culture grant from @lynchburgva ❤️ Thank you!

To celebrate Spooky Season, we’ve been asking our musicians to share their scariest stories, real or imagined. LSO violinist Laura Hengerer has a good one… and it really happened! 🎻 💥

Know what else is scary? 😱 How fast LSO and Wolfbane’s Sweeney Todd tickets are going. You might want to get on that. Check the link in our bio! 🎟️

A huge thank you to @lynchburgva for a James River Arts & Culture District grant that is supporting LSO’s participation in this great project! ❤️

Rabbit, rabbit, it’s the first of October! I voted early, which makes me a little sad because I love voting in my neighborhood, but there was no drama, which I definitely love. I got to catch the opening night performance of The Addams Family musical at Wolfbane productions at the Appomattox outdoor location. It was adorable, spooky, and terribly fun! I had to channel Wednesday a bit. Espen loves playing fetch in her backyard, and I must now report my first real puppy casualty, my 2026 planner. It was apparently quite tasty. I have made a new planner for the remainder of the year. Lesson learned, but also, I know I’ve been extremely lucky on that front. #rabbitrabbit
