Couldn’t ask for a more poetic ending to the first tournament on the new rig. Grand Champion of the @montauk_canyon_challenge . Our 210lb Bigeye held on for the week despite some of the best crews on the east coast putting in work.

We ended our overnight going 8/9 on Bigeyes to 210lbs, a bunch of yellowfin, an 83” Bluefin and a Blue Marlin release.

Thanks to everyone that helped along the way, our sponsors, and my awesome crew and bosses. Congrats to my people on Alexa Ann and all my other friends that placed!

NYC Bluefin Tuna on the Forever Two Worlds. Broke off a jumbo first thing in the morning but the tuna gods gave us another shot with this 75” beauty. Just grateful to come tight again after a heartbreaker early in the day. Underwater footage of one of the two large bigeyes hooked up today!

We went 1 for 2 on bigeye tuna (240 pounds) today. Crazy how things changed from one day to the other. Fished the same area and we marked them deep but we guess the enormous amount of dolphins in the area was not letting the bigeyes to come up to the top.
The day started pretty early actually hooking up a fish right away. Not sure what it was as the fish ran at the surface all time after emptying the 80W… Spent the whole day around the same area and finally after lunch we hooked up again and released a nice 240 pounder for Eric!

Two blue marlins were hooked up on the same area as well so they are around. Great news!

As usual, bigeye tuna caught on a @wolfpacktackle Ahi Head Pro with a ballyhoo zip rig. Incredible how effective those lures have been!!!

@jboyle4198 and I came across a massive school of black drum and redfish today and had a blast playing catch and release with these dinosaurs. It’s common for us to have schools of black drum in the backyard but John was able to pull a stud redfish out of the school. In all my years fishing Rockaway Beach and New York waters I’ve never seen a redfish. FTW is on the board for a NYC red. Our waters are filled with all sorts of life right now.
