Every month, our fundholders used their Donor Advised Funds to strengthen communities across Minnesota and beyond.

In September, their giving supported hundreds of causes, from healthy food for Minnesota kids to flood relief in Nepal.

Swipe to see how their generosity is making an impact.

Your giving can do the same. Learn more at GiveAdvised.org.

Farmers, fishers, Tribal nations, food entrepreneurs, and local organizations are coming together to build a more connected North Shore food system rooted in ecological stewardship, local ownership, and community resilience.

This week, our team and fundholders stepped into the ecosystem through stories, perspectives, and shared conversation. They learned about the connections between climate resilience, conservation, Tribal self-determination, and rural vitality—and what’s possible when land, water, and community unite.

We’re grateful to the partners who helped make this experience possible: Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies, University of Minnesota Extension, and The McKnight Foundation.

This happened like a summer ago.. but I ran out of ink for my printer so I put off making this but then I lost my license to use my printer since if didn’t print anything for awhile and you need your license to buy more ink so I had to re-apply at the dmv and then it took like a month for the ink to get here so like most of my assignments it’s better late than never.

these are some photos from graduation and from intensive theme and some photos and scraps from the last year that I put into a book.

📖Journal pages from my week at Wolf Ridge Environmental Center in Minnesota—despite the epic heat ☀️(98 degrees!) and then terrible smoke from the Boundary Waters fires 🔥 (Air Quality Index 765, with 0 to 50 being normal or clean), we really did have a lovely time with a great group. If you are going to have challenges, great people make all the difference. #naturejournal #fieldjournal #fieldarts @wolfridgeelc

At Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center, campers trade screens for wilderness adventures and spend their days exploring some of Minnesota’s most incredible natural places. 🌿✨

Whether they’re paddling through the Boundary Waters, backpacking along the Superior Hiking Trail, or exploring the rugged North Shore of Lake Superior, campers learn by doing.

Along the way, they’ll build:
🧭 Outdoor skills and confidence
🤝 Leadership and teamwork
🌎 Environmental stewardship
💪 Independence and resilience

These aren’t just trips—they’re experiences that help kids grow, challenge themselves, and form lifelong friendships in the outdoors.

For many campers, it’s the highlight of their entire summer. ☀️
