This September baby is 33! I couldn’t be more thankful to all my incredible friends and family for making me feel so deeply loved this year. I’m always so awkward about celebrating myself, but my community really said “no no no, watch this!” and celebrated me all month long 🥹🥰 I’ve truly never felt more special and loved than I have this year. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much to everyone who celebrated and wished me happy birthday for making me feel so loved, supported, valued, and cherished. I am so deeply appreciative and it is such a wonderful feeling to know I have so many amazing people in my life. ❤️ I love you all!

A room full of the people who shaped me. It’s rare I get to share the work with the people I made it for. I felt this overwhelming pride (not just because of the python pants) but because Houston loved on BE HAPPY the same way it continues to love on me— HARD.
Be Happy premieres THIS Saturday, Feb. 7 at 8/7c only on @lifetimetv

I love this trend because it finally gets my name right 🙌🏼

No shade to the 9-uhs out there — but my parents didn’t name me after a number. They named me Nina, which in some Native American languages means “Mighty.” 💪🏼🔥

That’s the meaning they chose for me. Mighty — strong, resilient, and full of fire. It’s something I’ve carried with me my whole life, whether I realized it or not.

What’s cool is that my name has many meanings across different cultures:
🌿 Native American: “Mighty,” “strong,” or “fire.”
🇪🇸 Spanish: “Little girl” or “brave girl.”
🇷🇺 Russian: A diminutive of Anna, meaning “grace.”
✡️ Hebrew: “Grace” or “favor,” also tied to “great-granddaughter.”
🌊 Babylonian: A goddess of the oceans.

All those layers — strength, grace, bravery, fire, and power — are things I’ve grown into over the years.

And honestly, it’s kind of perfect… because back in Basic Training for the Air Force, my squad mates — specifically @wolfross — nicknamed me “Mini Might” since I was small but mighty. That name stuck because it fit.

So yeah… it’s Nina. Knee-nuh. Mighty. That’s who I am. ✨
