From the Northern Great Plains of Canada, Wolf Willow plays original music inspired by honky tonk, Western swing and countrypolitan retro sounds. “if Dick Dale had joined Loretta Lynn’s band and made a wall of sound album inside the Grand Ole Opry.”

The Moon Runners are an enchanting, boisterous, progressive emo-rock band, combining emotional and complex music with chaotic, frantic energy. Impassioned shouted vocals, sunburnt effect-laden guitars, hypnotizing soundscapes with complex rhythms, they are the sound of glitched out digital pop rocks being zapped through your brain. They reside on treaty 4 territory.

Video Premiere: Wolf Willow - Live at Darke Hall
@wolfwillowband

Written by Jeff MacCallum @jeff.maccallum

Longtime favourites of Cups N Cakes, Wolf Willow, have gifted us the opportunity to premiere a concert film that showcases a sold out performance last November in Regina's historic Darke Hall. We are very excited for this video because it offers the chance for their fanbase outside of Saskatchewan the opportunity to watch what would have been the perfect setting for a Wolf Willow concert. The idea behind the show was to showcase the bands roots and inspiration which is the big Western Swing orchestras of the 40s and 50s playing in beautiful theatres. The evening features the ten piece band at their finest with guest appearances from Gil &Wil, Ellen Froese and Clayton Linthicum (of Kacy and Clayton).

The film was shot by Little Jack Films who is well known for his support of roots music through the Littlest Honky Tonk series and as a champion of Western Canadian Music through his film The Musical Republic of Western Canada. The video arrives as the band prepares to head out to play shows in Saskatoon (Amigos Oct 16) and Calgary (Palomino Smokehouse Oct 17).

Take some time out of your day and hit play on this incredible performance that will transport you to another time. And as always, please check out their Bandcamp page to support the band by purchasing their music.

We have SO many photos from Haywire 2026 that we haven’t shared yet — and looking back through them has us reliving just how much incredible talent came through the farm this year. ❤️

From singer-songwriters and bluegrass to rock, hip hop, DJs and everything in between, our stages were filled with some seriously talented humans all weekend long.

One of our favourite things about Haywire has always been creating a space where established artists, emerging musicians and young people just getting started can all share the same festival.

So over the next little while, we’re going to keep looking back and sharing some of the artists, performances and moments that made Haywire 2026 what it was.

To every artist who made the trip out to our little corner of rural Saskatchewan, stepped onto one of our stages and shared what you do with us — thank you. 🎶

And to everyone who showed up, danced, listened, discovered someone new and supported live music — thank you for being part of it.

A huge thank you as well to All My Relations Photography for capturing so many beautiful moments throughout the weekend and giving us all of these memories to look back on. 📸❤️

There’s a whole lot more Haywire still to share.
