I can’t wait for the 4 a.m. smell of fresh coffee dripping into my @yeti Rambler mug, throwing my packed Camino in the car and heading towards the mountains for some quality turns with good friends. 📷 @akaschwartz & @mattrfoley

currently disappearing into the experience with @unitedshapes

The covert splitboard is the tool for all mountain conditions, but I am so psyched to see the deep reach splitboard added to the quiver, the ultimate float finder.

New site and new boards are live.

I am truly humbled to be a part of this team , and ride these amazing boards - muchas gracias 🦋

Break in between the storms, quick strike on La Chimenea.
Set the homies up on the line @thejohngrover and @nicholascahill then rode the scraps, connecting into Little La Chimenea. Followed by shredding in the ping pong ball. Using my memory of terrain to ride the deep trench’s and waves!

Back in February we lost such an amazing soul @cascadeconnections / @strattonmattesonlegacy.
The night the day Strat passed, @bjornleines called me up to deliver the heavy news. I knew in his voice something was wrong, we lost a great one to the mountains. It was his time to go home, to fly above, to join Alex and to overlook us with the wisdom that he possessed.
When I hung up the phone, it was like the universe was already telling me, as my phone changes my wallpaper every hour, and in all of the 13,000 photos I have. The second photo in this post is what was there, the photo of the Cardiff Crew on top of Wy’East at Mt Hood, the first line I shredded with Strat, wild that it was there, staring back at me. I was up at @keefer.lake.lodge, guiding, the next day I had to do an avalanche briefing with my guests and almost broke down in tears. I had to pull myself together and provide the services I’m known for, for my guests. I left after the tour to take a much needed break in Nakusp before returning back to guiding.
Strat and I had chatted for years, connecting through @_zakmills. We would chat snow and trips, and talk about random bike adventures to do in Canada. Strat would send me his snowpack test videos, and ask for feedback, he was so in tuned with growing his knowledge.
This post is a mix of this year in June celebrating his life and when we first connected at Mt Hood back in 2023, when we had instant brotherhood bonding. We rode the whole trip together, touring, chairlifts, summer solstice party, we vibed so hard. He became my Cascade Connection and one that inspired me so much in life. We had a dream trip to do in the Rockies, that I will do for him. You’re such an inspiration my dude, and I will continue to ride so much for you, and I feel so lucky to be apart of @cardiffsnowcraft. It truly is a family and I love every one of you. For you Stratdawg.
