Thinking about doing a champagne tower at your wedding? Here are a few tips to make it extra fun and photogenic:

🥂You’ll need at least 3 bottles of champagne or prosecco to fill the glasses properly.

🥂Once the glasses are full, do something playful! Sip together from the top glass (if you want to do this, it helps if the table isn’t too tall). Or go bold and take a swig straight from the bottle — adds a fun, spontaneous vibe to the photos.

🥂At Alice and Johnny’s wedding, someone blew bubbles right behind me while they were pouring, and it added such a lively touch to the shots.

🥂Think about the glasses you’ll use for the tower. The most photogenic ones, in my opinion, are the classic coupe style like you see here, or even better — ribbed ones (search IKEA Sällskaplig glasses for an idea of what I mean).

Little touches like this really elevate the moment!

Last week I shot Alice and Johnny’s wedding at the Chateau Grande Hotel @chateaugrandehotel. For the second Saturday in a row, it was freezing and rainy (and looks like tomorrow won’t be any different). I honestly feel so bad for my sweet couples.

The weather is one of those things none of us can control, but there are ways to make the most of it and still get beautiful, romantic photos together:

☂️ First — get a clear umbrella ahead of time. It’s simple but makes a huge difference.

🌧️ Second — rain usually doesn’t last the entire day. Keep an eye on the forecast, and when there’s a break (or the rain turns into just a light drizzle), you can sneak outside for a few quick shots. It really helps if your photographer already knows exactly what moments you want captured so you can move quickly and make the most of the dry window.

🏠 And don’t underestimate indoor spots — staircases, hotel/venue bars, or cozy hallways can make for stunning photo backdrops too.

Honestly, great wedding photos come down to a mix of good prep, the photographer’s ability to make fast decisions on the fly, and the couple being willing to brave a little chill. 🥶You’ll 100% forget that you were cold for those 5–10 minutes… but the photos will be so worth it.
