A closer look at #WonJuLim's Parasiting, now on view in @Counterpublic 2026: Coyote Time.

Commissioned by the St. Lous, MO triennial for its third edition, Parasiting merges architecture, sculpture, light, shadow and sound. The installation features a series of glass panels laser-engraved with images of spiderwebs, each hand-collected by @wonjulimstudio from over fifty historically charged buildings and locations.

The exhibition opened with The Host, a contemporary dance performance conceived in collaboration with @stldancetheatre and artist Amy Granat.

👉 On view through December 13, 2026

Cita con el horizonte is an exhibition I curated at Artnueve Galeria in Murcia Spain featuring the work of a group of artists based in California and Colorado. Every piece embodies a reflection around some contemporary culture critical issue in an arrangement that deals with evaluation the zenith and twilight of modernity (more information coming soon). The pieces are displayed as an installation, on a shelf creating something in between a mundane domestic or comercial shelf, a city scape with a horizon line and a contemporary still life. A sort of contemporary vanitas. The shows features the work of: Won Ju Lim, Marius Lehene, Kirsten Palz, Tanya Brodsky, Josh Callaghan, Marina Kassianidou, Derrick Velasquez, and Kim Schoen….Still open for a few more days.

Putting the final touches on Won Ju Lim: The Vast Structure of Recollection, on view starting July 18th. Also, please join us for the opening reception on October 10th!

Won Ju Lim (@wonjulimstudio): The Vast Structure of Recollection brings together three chapters of Lim’s artistic practice. The works on view include Proustian Bedroom, That Sense of Complexity…, and a new site-specific installation. In Proustian Bedroom, Lim reconstructs 11 bedrooms from her past and the one she currently occupies, layering their remembered dimensions and spatial arrangements across the walls of the Coil Atrium over the course of the exhibition, with the installation completing in March. That Sense of Complexity…, another Proust-related project, combines found objects with architectural models to create an environment of shifting light and shadow. Created especially for this exhibition, a new installation investigates the physical and spectral traces of the gallery itself–a former turn-of-the-century Rouse’s department store–exploring the museum site as a repository for residues of the past.

CHIMERA’D @phase_gallery
This exhibition addresses the chimera as an action. To chimera (or chimerize), suggests the coming together of disparate things to create a new unity. But the action could be less physically comprehensible, metaphors of mashup, or stitching, in which the new third thing incorporates yet somehow transcends the character of its constituents, without entirely masking their presence. By invoking action, the chimera’d thing is situated in time, suggesting change, producing forensic qualities that can then be chased backwards, or speculated forwards.
