@asianrootscollective, formerly known as CCYAA, is a non-profit organization celebrating Asian excellence in sports, arts, food, and entertainment. It is an annual cultural convention featuring interactive sectors such as ARC Eats (culinary showcases by prominent local chefs), ARC Market (local Asian-owned vendors), ARC Talks (panel discussions with prominent leaders), and ARC Next (live performances and variety acts). Just a week ago, ARC completed its 2026 edition at @downtownmarkham, with many Asian celebrities in attendance, including @iammcjin, @simuliu, @jlin7, @annacathcart, @josephchiu0812, and many more. If you’re a foodie like me, ARC Eats features many vendors, including @paitoronto, @ashadrynoodle, @marrymemochi, @makilala.ca, @pokito.toronto, @wontonhut, @woodlyns.to, and @daangocakelab, making it perfect for families and friends. It was such a fun day—I got to play many games, shop for cute things, and devour as much food as possible. If you missed it this year, be sure to check out next year’s schedule. See you next year!

6 seating wonton pop up shop at 1 Byng Ave, North York. Primary serving wonton noodles & Beef brisket noodles. Currently only open from take out available from 6pm and dine in starts 8pm - 11pm.
Limited hours were due to the AC condition in the store. I had their wonton noodles $13.25. There's 4 pieces wonton inside.. I really like their noodles texture. Cleared broth. Wonton itself had good amount of shrimp filling in it. The might be some little room for improvement. But I think it's pretty decent overall.
At their noodles texture quality...I am craving for lo mein tho 😉

🇭🇰Bustling with HK nostalgia giving a true dai pai dong feel, Chef Eddie of @wontonhut is now dishing out his signature wonton noodle soup and slow-braised brisket to the lucky residents of North York.

Meant more for pickup and takeout orders, but there are 6 seats to dine in to enjoy the atmosphere and watch the master chef at work👨🏼‍🍳

🍜 Big plump wontons, springy noodles and deep flavoured broth, you can’t go wrong with this!

Also, 🚫no tipping here for either dine-in or takeout!

Wonton noodle craving sorted at @wontonhut! Chef Eddie makes impressive jumbo wontons filled with fresh shrimp with noodles that transported us back to Hong Kong.

The sui gao was also delicious, and the beef meatballs were so juicy and tender. We also tried dace fishballs, cuttlefish balls and flavourful beef brisket and tendon.

There’s constant stream of customers coming in to have a taste of home.

I know it's a small independent shop that's been here for ages but I'm sure they must have sold the place or transfered ownership. Because WHAT HAPPENED??

🥟 Wontons were the blandest I've ever had in my life, and that goes for the soup too. Not only did they not have thick noodles, their broth was definitely not made with shrimp shells or 大地魚. I am the type to love eating yu choy cooked only with water and a pinch of salt so for me to say this was bland is pretty bad.

Their broth used green onion, not 韮黃, which is why their broth was so different. And there was no seasoning.

❄️ Loved the AC.

🍵 They use very good quality jasmine tea! They should've used clear cups to showcase the tea instead of the typical brown cups.

Idk where the original chef went but they need to come back. Can't say that today blew my mind.

It may seem like I'm always trying new foods but I generally don't stray far from ordering the same foods when I find a staple 🤣

I love me a good 雲吞麵 (HK style wonton noodle soup) but I generally order a 港式炸醬麵 (HK style zha jiang mien/ Chilli bean paste noodles) and then painstakingly take out all the onions coz I really shouldn't be eating em🤣...

I think out of all the wonton noodle soup places I've been to, @wontonhut still tastes the most nostalgic and reminds me of the ones I've had in Hong Kong when I was younger.

I am on my last pack of bamboo pressed noodles from Kwan Kee. The thick noodles were capable of lo mein, kind of like mix noodles style. Let's go all out of the box.
Based on my previous experience at The Poke place, I had a Cali poke bowl with soba noodles. Perhaps, let's test this poke concept with these bamboo noodles.
Noodles with a little sesame oil coating. The salmon poke that I got a poke guys already have sauce in it. Therefore, I didn't put any additional sauce to it. I had two photos. I wonder should I add seaweed flakes on top?
Overall, it's an in pretty interesting testing.
Anyways.. Time for the next project.
