Major shoutout to the dressers who kept every runway transformation moving backstage at #bumbershoot. Give them all the flowers🖤💐 @missctaggs @zalezatelier @meekserixa @angelxaudrey @bemeticulouslyeccentric @jessi.dragon

A character-based runway is a completely different assignment. You’re not just helping a model change clothes. You’re helping them leave one persona behind and step into another. Every look introduced a new silhouette and character, so each change had to protect the story just as carefully as the clothes.

For each show, every dresser was assigned two models. Each model had two looks and a different character to portray in each one. That’s four full transformations per dresser, plus garments and accessories that varied in size, quantity and complexity. Casual😱

Everything needed a clear label and an assigned place. Accessories had to be staged, closures understood, original artwork protected, and every step of the change mapped out: what came off first, what went on next and which details completed the new character. While each model mentally reset for their next persona, their dresser was already building the transformation around them.

Then came the next mission: moving our entire cast from the greenroom to the runway staging area without revealing the collection.

The solution? A moving wall of black fabric that became known as the fabric tunnel 😂 (shout out @bemeticulouslyeccentric ). It kept the looks concealed, immediately caught the attention of curious spectators and led them straight to the runway.
The show started before we ever reached the stage.

Our wardrobe team brought experience from runway, theater and personal styling and when it was go time, they stayed locked in. No panic. No folding under pressure. Just organization, preparation, experience and trust.

The audience saw the characters transform. Our dressers made every transformation possible.
